Veeve (312), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA May 23, 2008 Ratings by Veeve, Back by Popular Demand, on Vacay in the lovely Savannah, Georgia. This beer is found on tap at the MoonRiver restaurant and brewing site on Bay Street in Savannah, GA. A very grainy aftertaste. A good example of its German style, certainly met its intention. see-through watered down copper color. good if you like these German beers but not a GREAT one of its kind. not as complex as you might want. not much else to say. its what you would expect. a bit of bitter aftertaste/a bit burnt. jaymobrown (1293), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 22, 2008 Wow, had this Octoberfest beer in April. Really smooth malt flavor. A little bubbles. Some hops in the end. Hmm.. much like the rest of the beers I tried, this was rather uneventful, but not in a good way. It was just sort of there. kiefdog (390), Tampa, Florida, USA May 18, 2008 On tap at Moon River Brewing on 5/17/08. Pours a clear dark golden to amber color with a thin white head that dissipated quickly leaving little lacing on the glass. Aroma was very faint in the pour we tasted although we identified some spice and slight sweetness. Flavor: Hints of orange peel, slight sourness, medium body with a watery and unremarkable finish. baileyuk (11), Wixom, Michigan, USA May 4, 2008 Drank this in Savannah on River Street. It had a good look although looked a little light for the style. This ended up being true as the taste was also not to style. It was a weaker taste and although initially not unpleasant it was less flavorful than most beers. It started okay but finished worse. I would say that in the right situation it may be okay, but it is not to style and I probably would not revisit if there are other choices.
nick76 (2015), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 15, 2008 I am not a fan of the style but it was at least average for the style. The aroma was junky like an Oktoberfest beer with corn malt and hops like leaves. The flavor was like the aroma. The palate was thin but smooth.
