Like its namesake, this strong ale is known for the sneak attack. Hop-heads will enjoy its assertive bitterness and huge floral, dry hop aroma.

On tap @ Moon River / Savannah GA --- Clear medium amber, solid head cover, sheets of lace. Looks like a beer should look. Taste is caramel malt and later, mild hop bitters. There is hardly buttering to qualify this as an IPA. Thinking of it as a pale ale, it comes off much better. Quite good, just don’t get lost looking for hops.

Crystal clear amber pour. Thin white head. Hoppy orange aroma. Fruity, estery flavor. Light bitter finish. Touches of pine in the finish. Not exceptionally complex or interesting, but clean and drinkable.

Draft at Moon River. Orange pour with a frothy white head. Dry hop aroma with citrus and pine backed by a caramel, bready malt sweetness. Sweet flavor in the front with citrus bitterness coming through in the end. Not bad.

Tap at Moon River. It pours clear amber with a thick white head. The nose is light toast, orange peel, tangerine, pine, biscuit and faint caramel. The taste is light toast, tangerine, orange, earth, light bitterness, hay, straw, biscuit and underlying sweetness with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice bitter-sweet balance.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent light orange colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was malt hop. The crisp mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong hoppy aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of mild caramel and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange-gold color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, citrus and biscuit malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter character consisting of hops, grapefruit and malt. The finish is hoppy up front with a fruit aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tap. Golden with white head and good retention and light lacing. Bit of a piney aroma with light citrus and resin notes, maybe some rye. Flavor follows. Starts round, finishes lightly bitter.

Enjoyed on tap as part of a sampler at Moon River in Savannah, GA. Appearance is a cloudy gold work thin white head that laces to the glass. Aroma of pears and apricot, light citrus, dry. Taste goes down lightly bitter, light citrus, hoppy, decent stuff.

On tap at brewpub. Poured a golden orange with good layer of white head. Aroma and taste were grapefruit through and through. Very sweet and piney IPA. Pretty tasty and solid IPA, though not earth-shaking.
