Kevster (174), Bradenton, Florida, USA Mar 22, 2007 On tap 3/17: Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aromas are filled with coffee and roasted malts with hints of chocolate. Flavor is roasty with hints of coffee and chocolate in the dry finish. Enjoyable and warmed me up on a cold St. Patrick’s Day morning in Savannah. antzman (284), Clarksville, Indiana, USA Feb 24, 2007 Draft. Pours a dark black with a fizzy tan head. Almost cola like carbonation. The aroma is full of coffee, roasted malts, with a touch of hops. The flavor is pretty light for a stout, but what you would expect for this style of stout. Very Guinness-like. Hints of coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malts. A clean dry finish. TheBeerLover (1002), DC Metro Area, USA Jan 26, 2006 This is an excellent locally brewed version of dry stout, with lots of good coffee aromas and flavors, plenty of roasty notes, and a bone dry finish. DA Bomb Stout pours to a beautiful, opaque ebony color with a thick and creamy tan head, and a soft to moderate amount of carbonation. The nose is just packed with fresh coffee and roasty aromas, paired with a nice back drop of spicy hop aroma. The palate is firm and creamy on the tongue with big flavors of coffee and roast, and touches of bitter sweet chocolate. DA Bomb finishes with more coffee and roast up front, then ends with a bone dry, roasty, and bitter finish.
An impressive dry stout, from what I suspect is one of Georgia’s best brewpubs. This beer, and all the beers for that matter, are well worth a trip to Moon River for. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA Jan 24, 2006 2005 GCBC. Nitro pour - opaque deep dark brown pour with the typical big dense creamy nitro head. Semi-sweet roasty malt aroma with some coffee. More creamy roasty flavors with chocolate and a touch of coffee. Kinda thin, but decent enough.
