Hance07 (158), DownSouth, Georgia, USA Mar 2, 2008 Pours a dark brown with good sized tan head. Aroma is roasted malt. Flavor is a roasted malt with a long creamy finish. Absolutely fabulous porter. If i lived near Savannah I would drink this all the time. Sammy (2779), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 9, 2008 Solid porter, with coffee grinds in the offing and chocolate malt. Dark with mocha head and good lacing. SOme licorice and even possibly borrowing some orange and corriander from the other beers. NicerInPerson (332), North of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jan 17, 2008 The aroma was roasty with an acidic chocolate and fruity nature. Some caramel was notable in the background, but the beer was a bit winey in the nose. The beer arrived blackish brown with a beige lasting head which laced the glass. The flavor was chocolate, dark chocolate, with a dry acidity and caramel. The flavor was fruity and had a nice level of bittering but no appreciable sweetness or hop flavor. The body was medium with a low level of carbonation. The finish was dry with a lightly acidic chocolate into the aftertaste. A good porter without any alcohol presence despite being 7%. Pint at the brewpub. fordest (1631), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Dec 6, 2007 GABF. Black pour. Roasty bitter even in the aroma. Some coffee, but somewhat watered down. Average KieferUGA (220), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 27, 2007 4 oz. sample. Pours a deep, dark brown with khaki-colored bubbly head. Aroma of chocolate with espresso notes. Sweet, smooth mouthfeel with nice chocolate flavors. Malt backbone with a hint of bitterness at the finish line. My favorite beer of the night.
