| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 17, 2008 The aroma was roasty with an acidic chocolate and fruity nature. Some caramel was notable in the background, but the beer was a bit winey in the nose. The beer arrived blackish brown with a beige lasting head which laced the glass. The flavor was chocolate, dark chocolate, with a dry acidity and caramel. The flavor was fruity and had a nice level of bittering but no appreciable sweetness or hop flavor. The body was medium with a low level of carbonation. The finish was dry with a lightly acidic chocolate into the aftertaste. A good porter without any alcohol presence despite being 7%.
