Our wit beer (white beer) is an old style Belgian ale, brewed with wheat and barely , and spiced with Curacao bitter orange peel and coriander. The coriander and orange zest are detectable in the beer's aroma with a lingering, yet subtle "orangeiness." A unique one of a kind brew!
Moon River earned four medals at the 2005 Georgia Craft Brew Challenge hosted by Georgians for World-Class Beer. On Nov. 5, more than 200 lucky people packed the Biergarten at Atlanta’s 5 Seasons Brewing Company to taste the best beers made in Georgia. During the blind judging session, judges evaluated 35 beers and deemed:
• Belgian Ale Category: 1st Place - Wild Wacky Wit

Rated on 02-25-2013 at Moon River B.C. This draft beer’s appearance is a very small white head that mostly diminishes, cloudy butterscotch body, no visible carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is wheat, coriander, spice, and sweet. The flavor is lemony, sweet, coriander, and light wheat. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is medium bodied. This is a session beer that could use a bit more flavor.

Banana noise to start with. Not as harsh a wheat bite as many of them have. Mild and tasty.

Pretty average wit. Standard cloudy orange. Heavy on coriander and orange. Appropriately yeasty. Not bad, but nothing special.

On tap @ Moon River / Savannah GA --- Cloudy pale straw color with a rim head, streaks of lace. Taste begins with thin wheat. Grows some in the palate before adding a zesty shot of carbonated coriander and spice, followed by light citrus bittering to finish. The spices are brief, but are the best part. Otherwise, seems like a thin shandy.

Had this one on tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy orange with a white head. It had a funky aroma to it. When you tasted it you could definitely pick out the coriander and orange. It was nicely balanced, easy to drink, and it was a great beer to walk around the city with.

Sample at the Decatur Craft Beer Fest. Pours a cloudy, very pale yellow color, with a small, white head. The aroma is light lemons, coriander, and cardamom. The flavor is sweet, and just a little sour. Very light body, crisp, and just a little spicy. Overall, this is a very light, refreshing and delicious witbier. While not assertive, hoppy, or complex, it is well made, and is a solid beer.

Brewgrass 2013. Pours hazy straw with a wispy head and light soap lace. The nose is of hay and Apple Jacks cereal. Grains, cereal and Fruit Loops on the tongue. An active mouthfeel and light body ensue. Decent summer brew that cleanses and provides complexity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

5/22/13. On tap at the brewery. Hazy orange pour with a fluffy off-white head. Phenolicy spice in the aroma, a touch on the plastic side, with some citrus and bready malts. Citrus and spice in the flavor, light malts behind it. Not bad.

Tap at Moon River. It pours cloudy gold with a medium white head. The nose is wheat, herbal, floral, wheat, earth and a light touch of smoke. The taste is wheat, earth, light sweetness, orange peel, floral, light spice and a touch of herb with a dry, faintly citric finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth and refreshing wit. Great for the Savannah heat!
