COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our wit beer (white beer) is an old style Belgian ale, brewed with wheat and barely , and spiced with Curacao bitter orange peel and coriander. The coriander and orange zest are detectable in the beer's aroma with a lingering, yet subtle "orangeiness." A unique one of a kind brew!
Moon River earned four medals at the 2005 Georgia Craft Brew Challenge hosted by Georgians for World-Class Beer. On Nov. 5, more than 200 lucky people packed the Biergarten at Atlantaís 5 Seasons Brewing Company to taste the best beers made in Georgia. During the blind judging session, judges evaluated 35 beers and deemed:
ē Belgian Ale Category: 1st Place - Wild Wacky Wit

On draft at Moon River, pours a cloudy yellow color, aromas of lemon, spice, wheat and orange. Flavor is much the same with some banana poking through.

The aroma is full of lemon notes and some spice. The beer is a hazy pale straw. The taste is nowhere near the complexity of the aroma, but the citrus notes are there. The palate is light with smoothness from the wheat.

Serving: Draft at the brewpub. It pours a cloudy yellow color. The nose has light grain and some lemon. The flavor has stale grains, a slight off vegetal note, some lemon, wheat, and sulfur. Dry finish. This brew is past itís prime assuming it had a prime.

Cloudy straw yellow with white head and lace. Aroma of wheat, paper, a hinto orange, and pepper. Wheaty, paper, light orange, and no bitter on the taste. Light bodied with smooth carbonation.

Draft at the brewpub. Very hazy yellow color with a lasting white head. Slightly slick on the palate with lots of lemony flavor with a little orange peel, wheat, and yeast. Sweet with a light spice finish. Clean and really refreshing stuff. This was probably my favorite beer of all the ones I tried at this place. I could drink a lot of these in the hot sun.

Full Irish pint at the brewpub in Savannah. Pours extremely murky... A tsn hay color. Presented with an orange but didnít use it... The beer itself tastes rather orangey already. Coriander and the other usual wit suspects. While faint, a fruity pebbles cereal taste present which are when wits are at there best.

Sampled at brewpub. Murky pale color with some head and lacing. Lots of orange flavor. Sweet, fruity and yeasty. Enjoyable, but none of the peppery spice that makes a belgian wit a belgian wit. Hints of coriander. Good, but not really true to style.

Pint glass at the brewpub. Was a cloudy pale yellow with a very thing white head. The aroma was of coriander, wheat and some orange. Overall there wasnít much taste with light flavors of coriander and citrus. This beer could be better if it had a little more flavor.

On draft at the Moon River Brew Pub cloudy amber color, with aspice and orange aroma, light white head not lasting, spice and metallic flavor, didnít do much for me expected more from it but it edged out the Captainís Porter by a nose.

Draft at Moon River served in a pint glass. Pour was cloudy straw with very little head and no lacing. Nose was old vegetables, light spices, and an odd buttery thing going on. Taste was on par, but the spices associated with the style didnít really show up until the finish. Even then, they were mild undertones. Not a bat WIT brew, but nothing to write home about either.
