Our wit beer (white beer) is an old style Belgian ale, brewed with wheat and barely , and spiced with Curacao bitter orange peel and coriander. The coriander and orange zest are detectable in the beer's aroma with a lingering, yet subtle "orangeiness." A unique one of a kind brew!
Moon River earned four medals at the 2005 Georgia Craft Brew Challenge hosted by Georgians for World-Class Beer. On Nov. 5, more than 200 lucky people packed the Biergarten at Atlanta’s 5 Seasons Brewing Company to taste the best beers made in Georgia. During the blind judging session, judges evaluated 35 beers and deemed:
• Belgian Ale Category: 1st Place - Wild Wacky Wit

5/22/13. On tap at the brewery. Hazy orange pour with a fluffy off-white head. Phenolicy spice in the aroma, a touch on the plastic side, with some citrus and bready malts. Citrus and spice in the flavor, light malts behind it. Not bad.

Tap at Moon River. It pours cloudy gold with a medium white head. The nose is wheat, herbal, floral, wheat, earth and a light touch of smoke. The taste is wheat, earth, light sweetness, orange peel, floral, light spice and a touch of herb with a dry, faintly citric finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth and refreshing wit. Great for the Savannah heat!

Muddy looking, rust-colored with ring of head. Sharp coriander nose, wonderful wheatiness. Interesting, zesty body lush and wheaty, with coriander playing a prominent role. Excellent body and mouthfeel.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of frothy fine to large sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a uncarbonated very hazy dark yellow colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was malty and orange peel. The mild citrus mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish with a mild fruity aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of mild citrus wheat orange peel sweet mild hops candy coriander dough malt and bread dough. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Sample at the brewpub. Slightly cloudy straw color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, wheat and spice. Light-bodied with flavors of sweet spices, fruity yeast and malt. The finish is wheaty with a citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.

Imperial Pint at Moon River. Awesome appearance..thick cloudy yellow-orange-tan. Interesting, almost an oaky wheat. Semi-strong spice character, well interplayed with the yeastiness and wheat. Medium to light bodied, very drinkable. Lots of sour wheat. Really forward on the lemon, clove..like a Hefe without the banana. The aroma has a little of a brewhouse feel which doesn’t work for me, but otherwise this is spot on. Great beer.

On tap at brewery - Pours, looks, and smells like a typical wit. Above average dept of flavor for a wit - definite common citrus notes but a bit more savory and complex than normal. Definitely solid.

Tap. Hazy yellow with thin white head. Smells like cilantro and that pearly white hand soap. Tastes grassy. Moderately dry finish, bit of graininess.

...had it on tap at the brewpub, and was rather surprised, was much better than I expected. Nice citrus and wheat notes on the nose. Looked nice and cloudy in the glass, with a orange hue. Light carbonation, smooth mouthfeel with nice wheat malt flavor. Finished slightly creamy with orange and corriander notes.

Enjoyed on tap as part of a sampler at Moon River in Savannah, GA. Appearance looks like fruit juice with very thin white rim. Aroma of orange peel and spice. Taste is slightly bitter, not really too good.
