The Great BrewDad Victoria Pub Crawl - Dark in color thin tan head. Nice dark malt flavor and finish. A very nice Dunkel.

Up front, not my favorite style. Pours dark brown, small tan head. Smells of spiced raisin pie, molasses and toffee. Taste is malt, molasses and raisin pie. Sweet. Nice carbonation. Sweet malt with a crisp lager finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark mahogany colour, not much head but it looks good anyway with that colour. Molasses aroma, taste is a bit molasses and caramelly dark malts. Simple character, not a ton of complexity, decent malt character and basic body.

Couleur rouge sombre avec une mousse beige moyenne. L’arôme du malt léger, céréalés et levure. Le goût est d’abord du malt, puis un peu de céréalés. Finition un peu sec.

22oz bottle, shared by DanielCoor. Hazy, dark brown / red color. Thin khaki, lightly airy head. Some splotches and ropes of lace. This bottle foamed over a bit when opened, may have a mild infection. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft carbonation. Lightly slick. Yeah, moderate tart taste, moderate sweet. Tastes mildly infected. Some decent chocolate, toasty malt notes. Light metallic. Not much to the aroma, but what’s there is good. Shame that it’s infected. Dan says it’s a year old, but not bad for what it is.

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2014 On tap at St Augustine’s in Vancouver. A very dark brown lager, with a bit of tan head. Dunkels aren’t my favourite lager style, as I generally prefer bocks and doppelbocks,, but this’s a very decent one.

More recently from a bottle from BCL store in Burnaby. Still a very agreeable dunkel, though with warmer weather coming, I probably won’t be having it again until fall. More of a cool to cold weather beer.

Correction: RB listing says 7.4% alcohol, but my recent bottle label says 5.4%.

Dark beer with a red tint, minimal beige head. Don’t really smell anything, But maybe because I am in a pub. I taste a little chocolate, but it seems watery. Very nice pallette.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Clear medium brown with dissipating tan head. Aroma is light toasted malt and nuts. Flavour same, quick finish, light body. Quite weak overall.

Draft - Chocalate malts with hints of coffee, nuts and vanilla. Jet black with a brown head. Tastes just like it smells which if I didn’t know better would think this is a porter. So much dark roasted flavors make this a great beer, but I don’t get the Dunkel.
