On tap at St Augustine’s in Vancouver. A very dark brown lager, with a bit of tan head. Dunkels aren’t my favourite lager style, as I generally prefer bocks and doppelbocks,, but this’s a very decent one.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark beer with a red tint, minimal beige head. Don’t really smell anything, But maybe because I am in a pub.
I taste a little chocolate, but it seems watery. Very nice pallette.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft - Chocalate malts with hints of coffee, nuts and vanilla. Jet black with a brown head. Tastes just like it smells which if I didn’t know better would think this is a porter. So much dark roasted flavors make this a great beer, but I don’t get the Dunkel.

Lots of chocolate aromas with hints of coffee. Pours a very dark brown and has lots of creamy malt tastes. Nits of burnt malt on the palate and a creamy mouth feel. A really good beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bottle pours an amber brown color with a finger of light beige head that leaves a few specks of lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark fruit (perhaps raisins) with some chocolate and herbs. Taste is a herbal hop bitterness with a dark fruity and light chocolate malty sweetness. Medium bodied with light carbonation. The beer fits the style and is fairly tasty. Ok, but nothing really stands out.

Bomber. Clear deep dark copper, foamy tan head settles and lasts. Sweet roasted malty aroma. Thin start, roasty chocolate and caramel malt, some nuttiness, no bitterness. Soft carbonation, light body, low hopped. Clean sweet finish. Enjoyable. LF (Lagerboy Friendly)
