COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Enticing, complex blend of blueberries, black cherries and blackcurrants balanced with basic elements of mead; honey, water. The mead that started Moonlight Meadery, Desire is a must with cheeses, Italian dishes, rich saucy meat dishes, or with Belgian chocolates. 73% honey, 9% black currant, 9% cherry, 9% blueberry.

Rich and sweet, deep notes from the dark fruits (currants, cherries, and blueberries), honey folds in to the back ground. The flavor is as rich and luscious as the aroma, a deep dark garnet color, almost opaque, big legs.

Sample @ RBWG, Asheville. Deep reddish pour with no head. Cranapple nose. Apple, honey, cherry meat. Sweet and hot. Taste is similar. Honeyed croissant slathered in cherry spread. Slightly tart. Oily and substantial on the palate. A sipper. Nice.

Deep dark fruits in the nose, lots of currants, the honey is present but just very well hidden. The flavor is sweet, but deep and tasty. I love this one.

Lots of fruit and honey in the aroma, think the cherries stand out the most, but the currant is clearly evident as well. The color is a dark garnet with crystal clear clarity. The flavor is honey, and fruits, well done a touch on the sweet side, but big alcohol and tart to pull all together.

This has a definite berry aroma and color to it, but the flavor is the strongest berry of the three, and I think black currants just aren’t my thing. This is actually a relatively low mead score for me.

Sweet, but balanced with tartness from the currants and cherries. A deep dark garnet color, still. The aroma is all fruit and honey, a hint of the 16% ABV is noted but wow this is amazing.

My favorite, big bold and tangy, sweet black currants, blueberries, and black cherries, with honey dominate the aroma. The finish is sweet.

If there was ever an LPR this is it. Oh does the wife love this and I can say while the name is a bit weak, the mead is incredible. Big berry notes, and cherry n the aroma, honey in the back ground. Flavor sweet as described, great balance on the fruits and honey. Finish so clean.

Closest thing to heaven I have ever tried, it’s like an adult gummy berry juice. The aroma currants and cherries all the way, some light esters but wow what a trip! Color dark garnet with big legs, still, crystal clear. The flavor, has to be the best mead I have ever tried. Lots going on, tartness from the currants, sweet from honey, oh the cherries and blueberries layer in so nicely on top. Finishes sweet, but not cloying by any stretch of the imagination.

Bottle purchased in Rhode Island last summer. Clear dark red in color with no head and no legs. Aroma of berry, cherry and honey. Sweet honey and berry flavor with dry cherry before a dry fruit finish.
