Fling Sweetness: Semi-sweet This mead is a ménage a trios between the honey, strawberries, and rhubarb. Tart from the rhubarb, sweet from the honey and strawberries. Tease your senses… enjoy this semi-sweet wine with a wide variety of dishes.

Bottle purchased at The Davis Food Co-Op for essentially half off. The aroma on this is just really difficult to put a finger on. I suppose it’s the rhubarb now that I smell it more. Not much else happening here. I also get some burnt tire character. Almost like someone spun some tires! That’s it! I’m wiling to bet it’s due to the rubber cork that was used. Transparent amber body with a still head present. Starts with a semi-sweet and semi-tart fruit FInishes with a little honey late on. Ethanol is pretty well hidden. It’s just that rubbery tire and rubber cork flavor and aroma that is just off-putting.

Pours rusty red brown. Aroma is rhubarb, earthy with mild raspberry notes. Flavor is nice strawberry up front. More fresh red with light green notes. Hints of rhubarb powering through with earth and subtle tartness. Nice balance between sweet and tart. Medium in body. Solid.

My first mead. Aroma is strawberry, rhubarb, honey, booze. Appearance is ruby red, white lacing. Taste is honey, a hint of strawberry and rhubarb. Which I guess is what they are going for here. Mouthfeel is pretty thick, flavor hangs, no detection of booze. Overall, it’s an interesting taste for sure.

The Strawberry and Rhubarb in this are amazing. They lend a gentle acidity that really complements the sweetness of the honey. I will be getting more of this!

Glass over at Rodney’s Check cashing and bar .. . Lots of booze, blueberry, and sweetness .. Antiseptic aftertaste .. Warm and gooey .. Nice but I wouldn’t want this again .. . . I had a friend named Rex, he was a complete loser. Phil and Juice almost had to kill the lil shit.

Pale yellow, some gold. Candy like, lots of raspberry and fruit. A lot of smoke, melon, honey and lemon. Clean finish

375ml bottle. Pours a still, light red aroma of berries, earth, and honey. Taste is light, off-dry mouthfeel That is tart and sweet, but slightly artificial strawberry tasting

Slightly rose tinted toasted brown color. Aroma is brimming with sweet and sour strawberry rhubarb, pungent. It is present in the flavor too along with an interesting smoky note. I like the profile but it is a tad sweet and I am not a fan of the flat, syrupy mouthfeel. Enjoyed trying a mead though for something different.

Draft at ChurchKey, they gave me like 8 ounces of this stuff instead of the 4oz pour, what are they thinking. Poured a clear reddish color, with a small wispy head which disappears. Wow, strawberry rhubarb pie notes. Flavor is the same, light tartness from the berry and rhubarb, but lots of sweet, dry notes from the honey. Alcohol is clearly there, but beverage is incredibly smooth.
