A sample at the Julios meadfest, not too much vanilla on this one. Apple is dominant

A winner, just the right amount of spices to pull this together. They honey adds some nice sweetness to this mead, but outstanding.

Bottle. Pour is pale yellow/golden with no head. Aroma and flavor is like an apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Apple sauce, honey, cinnamon sugar, vanilla extract, clove, and brown sugar. Very sweet, but delivers its name.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2014 The aroma is light apple, honey, touch of spices, vanilla, cinnamon, all well done, not overly one vs the other. The color is a deep straw, crystal clear, still nice legs that hang on to the glass. The flavor is as advertised, sweet honey, apple, spices arenít over done, just delicious.

This is my first mead and it is not far off what I expected. Heavy honey aroma and sweet honey flavor. Apple is fruity without tartness. Cinnamon adds a nice complexity. Very enjoyable.

Well named. Apple pie straight up but too sweet. Not over spiced, but surprisingly sweet.

Bottle shared at Jeffís. Clear a dull pale yellow color, still appearance. Aroma is a mix of apple pie spices and honey. Taste brings lots of all spice, honey, and light apple tartness. A touch boozy in the finish but still really smooth for 17%. Good stuff.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy apple pie with light cinnamon and honey. It pours a dull transparent gold with no head. The flavor starts with heavy apple pie with a hint of cinnamon. Thereís also light-moderate honey with just a touch of a loan the finish. Itís medium bodied with minimal carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel.

Bottle: Light, urine-yellow & straw body, still with no head at all, not even any bubbles upon pouring. Aroma of heavy wood, light cinnamon, honey, faint apple, & a moderate booziness flowing through everything. Taste is more honey forward than expected. Alcohol takes a backseat. Heavy, heavy sweet honey with very light notes of cinnamon & a touch of apple fruity tartness in the undertow. A nice mead, but it doesnít remind me as much of apple pie as I would expect.
