3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle purchased at my local Market Basket. Sat in my basement for close to a year. Time to open... Purple ruby color. Aroma is mild berries with a pretty strong amount of honey.
Flavor has a bit more ancho then I was expecting. Mild blueberry, hint of old ladyís perfume and a good amount of wildflower honey. If the alcohol was toned down it would improve the overall experience.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle. Deep ruby with minimal head. Melomel with very light carbonation. Honey sweetness with plenty of indistinct berry. Good stuff, but doesnít compare to Ken Schrammís stuff, which is in a whole another league. For the price, I was hoping for something closer to amazing.

Reddish brown pour. Aromas of potpourri and alcohol. Super floral. Not my thing. Pretty aggressive taste too.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Poured a purple color. Still. Aroma of blueberry wine, sweat and booze. Flavor was a harsh acidity or astringency that hard to describe, alcohol burn, and a berry finish. Not too great.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from The Beer Junction, Seattle; synthetic cork
Measured Final Gravity: 1010
Dark red dull color. Mild aroma of berry wine. Smooth mouthfeel in the front, lightly alcoholic and astringent later. Some berry flavor, but no harmony, and most of all no mead character. Iím drinking expensive booze, I donít think Iím getting value for the bucks.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Body is medium purple-red.
Aroma is notes of honey, alcohol, grape juice, blueberries, light note of bark.
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic.
Finish is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic.
Medium to full body, syrupy/watery texture, no carbonation, heavily alcoholic.
As with Sensual, this is very straightforward, again like something from Redstone. Aroma is like honey mixed with alcohol and grape juice, plus a bit of blueberry juice...simple but pleasant enough. Flavor balance leans heavily to the sweet side, without enough acidity or tannins to make it enjoyable...itís just barely drinkable for a sweet mead. Alcohol seems clean, which is an accomplishment for mead, but itís quite sharp and burning in the finish. Overall a pretty average rendition.
