Bottle from The Beer Junction, Seattle; synthetic cork
Measured Final Gravity: 1010

Dark red dull color. Mild aroma of berry wine. Smooth mouthfeel in the front, lightly alcoholic and astringent later. Some berry flavor, but no harmony, and most of all no mead character. Iím drinking expensive booze, I donít think Iím getting value for the bucks.

Bottle. No head. Body is medium purple-red. Aroma is notes of honey, alcohol, grape juice, blueberries, light note of bark. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic. Medium to full body, syrupy/watery texture, no carbonation, heavily alcoholic. As with Sensual, this is very straightforward, again like something from Redstone. Aroma is like honey mixed with alcohol and grape juice, plus a bit of blueberry juice...simple but pleasant enough. Flavor balance leans heavily to the sweet side, without enough acidity or tannins to make it enjoyable...itís just barely drinkable for a sweet mead. Alcohol seems clean, which is an accomplishment for mead, but itís quite sharp and burning in the finish. Overall a pretty average rendition.

Draft at ChurchKey, they gave me like 8 ounces of this stuff instead of the 4oz pour, what are they thinking. Iím now drunk. Poured a hazy, purple color with a small light blue color. Aroma was so-so, a bit medicinal, soapy, light berry. However, while the aroma was so-so, flavor was very pleasant blueberry.

375mL bottle at a VORLAUF meeting, I believe, July 2014. Ruby/red pour, looks okay. Blueberry aroma, sweet, plenty of honey, vanilla, a bit of booziness and astringency. The flavor is much the same - sweet, blueberry, honey, boozy, astringent. Not awful, not great. Eh.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Clear reddish with sparse bubbles around the ring. Aromas of honey, light blueberries, sweet apples. Tastes of sweet blueberries, honey. Light body with a dry finish. Still carbonation.

Poured from a 375 ml bottle. The aroma starts with sweet honey, soft blueberry juice, and finishes with some hot alcohol. The flavor is watery, light honey notes, the blueberries are almost nonexistent. Finishes very dry. Meh.

375mL bottle, pours a fairly clear dark mahogany with a tiny head. Nose brings out notes of blueberries upfront, with very light-to-mild honey. Flavour brings out lots of pure blueberries, with very mild honey. Very fruity. Good stuff, just not overly complex or with much depth.
