Bottle. Near black with a beige foam. Aromas are coffee and floral pine with earthy notes and nutty, woody notes. Dark berries with some smoke and peat. Nutty cocoa nibs with trace vanilla. Flavours are nutty roast malts with bittersweet grapefruit and resinous pine. Mint with peppery notes and dark chocolate. Winter berries with herbal, leafy notes. Dry and peppery to finish. Very nice.

Pours black with a small head. Nose shows roasted coffee, some piny, spicy hops, mild roasted malt. The coffee note is lovely. More coffee as a flavour, but little malt to back things up. Some piny hops. Needs a thicker body.

Oh, that’s interesting! Would you call it a stout? I’m not sure - it seems to walk the thin line between that and a BIPA. Nevertheless, it’s fine - licorice, coffee and, weirdly, shellfish notes on the nose. Pours charcoal black with a thin head but fat lace. One of many contradictions in this beer I would add. Flavour is fabulous - lime zest, lemonade, coffee grounds, damp earth, graprefruit, pine resin, burnt crispy bits from the bottom of a roast tin, and fresh, cold mango all combine in an epic agglomeration in the glass. What can I say? It rocks. It engenders bad puns, and I arbor a suspicion I’ll want moor of it in the very near future.

Pours black, almost solid black with decent head & lacing. Solid carbonation. Aroma of chocolate malts, coffee, smoke & citrus, piney hops. Nice. Well balanced, not very bitter. Finish is quite thin for a stout,, it’s got a lot in common with a Black IPA. Decent

Dark brown with frothy tan head. Aromas of milk chocolate and watermelon on the nose. Rich citrus and watermelon with chocolate, then the coffee comes pounding in from the sidelines. Rich, fruity, smooth, coffee continues throughout melding perfectly with the malt and hops. V sessionable too.

Quite a complicated stout. Some smoke in the aroma. Top notes of coffee and bourbon vanilla. There is pine resin then followed by raisins and chocolate. Dry and hoppy finish. Feint aftertaste of liquorice.
