Hoppy coffee stout originally brewed as a collaboration with Arbor Ales. The beer was so loved it was tweaked and continues as a rotating seasonal in collaboration with Clifton Coffee Company.

Cask at Euston Tap. It pours near black with a medium tan head. The nose is chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, oak, light smoke, tobacco and vanilla. The taste is roasted malt, coffee grinds, cacao, charcoal, toast, light cola and chocolate with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Flavoursome and well balanced.

Fra flaske på RBHD-samling på Tau okt-14: mørkebrun med flott beige skum. God aroma og smak av (tyrkisk) kaffe og letttrøstede nøtter. Lang, røstet finish. Litt skogbunn. Tørr. God smak, men mangler kropp. Vandig.

Shared bottle at RB/HD at Tau 18.10.14. Dark brown. Pale brown head. Aroma of vanilla and coffee and American hops with grapefruit and pine. Similar taste. Fairly long aftertaste. Dry, bordering to waterish.

0,5 l bottle at RBHD-gathering, Tau, Oct-2014. Deep, dark clear ruby mahogany body with a medium sized light brown head that lingers as an archipelago film. Raisins, vanilla, plums, pollen, ash and Turkish coffee on the nose. Smooth, roasted aromatic and dry. Light to medium bodied. Long roasted finish.

Shared 660 ml bottle, at local tasting. ABV is 4.7%. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of piney hops, mild roasty notes. Dry flavour with some bitter coffee notes and piney American hops.

Dark brown pour ends up looking black in pint, huge creamy/frothy light brown head and lots lacing. Lots of medium roast coffee, bit dark chocolate, licorice and bit medicinal herbs. Dry and roasted, lots coffee still, medium body, quite bitter lasting to long finish. Easy to drink and enjoy if u enjoy coffee.

My Bottom Line:
This sublime Porter juxtaposes roasted coffee, dark chocolate and resinous hops until lush fruitiness takes over.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the black with dark brown hues.
-The aroma is spellbinding. Wealthy malts, coffee and vibrant hops peering through.
-The flavour profile is quite different from the aroma! Much more fruit driven, less roasty and sweet.
-Resinous hops come with citrusy tips as well.
-The cask mouthfeel is very enjoyable; soft yet full.
