3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask handpull, The Salmon, Leicester, 16/11/12. Grey-beige top on glossy black. Intense aroma featuring...Blackjacks, burnt cinder toffee, Neopolitan ice cream flicked with fag ash. Gritty cocoa/filter coffee dregs on palate; more Blackjack, juicy strawberry chew and blackcurrant, earthy coffee, chargrilled veg, aniseed. Black IPA in my book, if such a thing exists. Big, big bang for your ABV buck; would’ve loved another but the missus was driving and whisked me protestingly back down the 69.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown pour ends up looking black in pint, huge creamy/frothy light brown head and lots lacing. Lots of medium roast coffee, bit dark chocolate, licorice and bit medicinal herbs. Dry and roasted, lots coffee still, medium body, quite bitter lasting to long finish. Easy to drink and enjoy if u enjoy coffee.

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My Bottom Line:
This sublime Porter juxtaposes roasted coffee, dark chocolate and resinous hops until lush fruitiness takes over.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the black with dark brown hues.
-The aroma is spellbinding. Wealthy malts, coffee and vibrant hops peering through.
-The flavour profile is quite different from the aroma! Much more fruit driven, less roasty and sweet.
-Resinous hops come with citrusy tips as well.
-The cask mouthfeel is very enjoyable; soft yet full.
On cask at Ma Che Siete, Roma.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Very dark brown, average and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, some roasted malt - faint burnt malt with light chocolate and some piney hoppyness. Body is light to medium, malty - and lightly sweetish flavor, some roasted malt and light chocolate, light piney hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and dryish, some roasted - faint burnt malt and light chocolate - faint coffee, light - some piney hoppyness. Really nice dryish and well hopped stout with roastiness - could use more body.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A colablack beer with a big and light brown head. The aroma is strongly roasted, almost burned, grapefuity hops, coffee, some chalk. Taste is strongly roasted, black coffee, some balancing sweetness, grapefruits. Almost medium bodied, easy to drink. Strongly roasted but not too much. Nice and grapefruity hops.

65 cl bottle @ home, BBE 20.02.2015
Aroma is nice with roastiness, ash and licorice aromas. Flavour has ash, licorice, some grapefruit-like hops and hints of resin. Aroma was promising but flavour is just too ashy; and palate is a bit watery too.

Caffè puro nel vero senso della parola, sia nell’aspetto visivo, al naso e anche in bocca. Non essendo un grande amante dello stile, ma devo ammettere che questa è notevole, e va giù che è un piacere.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown, massive beige head. Nose is stale coffee, roast, herbal-hoppy notes. Flavor is coffee, malt, roast, hops with herbal notes, some sour tones, cocoa powder, licorice. Not bad for a lighter stout. Shared by martjoobolut, thanks!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
0.66 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Black color. Aromas of grassy coffee, licorice and hint of oak. Dry roasty and bitter taste with licorice, grassy coffee and wooden pencil. Light body. slightly astringent palate. Fairly nice and drinkable but coffee tastes a bit old and grassy.
