Bottle, at Christianssand Brygghus. A huge light beige head forms over a lightly unclear light beige head. A bit weak aroma, with roasted malts, notes of coffee and dark chocolate, and a faint hint of cooked vegetables. The flavor follows the same path. Some coffee, a touch of hops and cooked vegetables. Medium body, soft carbonation. Lightly roasted finish. A decent beer indeed, but rather boring.130427

Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with a roasted grain and coffee bitterness. Well balanced with a medium body and modest carbonation. A very enjoyable porter with robust flavors that is very satisfying.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 a_cross (320) - Poole, Dorset, ENGLAND - FEB 8, 2013
Bottle; dark brown, large frothy tan head; lovely aroma of coffee and fruit; tastes of roasted malt, berry fruit and light coffee; perhaps slightly lactic; dry, bitter finish; I had a bottle of RCH Old Slug Porter in about 1994 and this reminded me strongly of that, for some reason - will have to get some of the RCH to see if my memory is playing tricks; anyway, this is old school goodness.
