Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - SEP 5, 2010
Bottle, purchased in Cheddar. Had to try this one, haven’t seen it in any pubs. Practically opaque brown with ruby tint. Large ice cream head. Aroma is rich. Chocolate malt. Mild spice like from ginger. Pure chocolate and some minerals. The mouthfeel is very soft, and also somewhat tannic and dry with decent carbonation. The peat is not really noticeable to me in the aromas or the flavors but there is a woody dryness on the tongue that is nice. The flavors are interesting, very much like bittersweet chocolate like eating 100% cocoa chocolate. A very dense beer. Not as exciting as expected, (I think maybe the peat is in name only), but still good.

Bottle from Kris Wines. Very dark brown, big tan head. Pear chocolate aroma. Flavours of pears and chocolate, light a very light-weight Rochefort with added bitterness from roasted malts, that appears mostly towards the finish. Nice fruitiness.
