Draught (Monks Cafe, Wallingatan, Stockholm) - Amber in colour. Grapefruit, lemon, tea and malt in the aroma. Refreshing and hoppy taste with notes of lemon, grapefruit and honey standing out.

On tap at Monks Cafe, Wallingatan. (thanks SaintMatty) Clear dark golden with a medium white head. Aroma of grass, fruit, citrus and some malt. About the same in the taste. On the dry side and medium bitter. Nothing sensational but drinkable.

Bottle from Chester Beer & Wine. Murky amber pour with a dissipating yet lingering off white head. Pineapple, ganja like hop and sweet malt nose. Great fullish mouthfeel. Slightly sweet flavour with tropical fruit notes of melon and grapefruit, that gives way to a steadily building hop bitterness. Robust, satisfying and lengthy finish. The Jester looks like a win on this evidence.

Bottle; gold/amber, clear, frothy white head; good peachy aroma; peachy flavour too, alongside citrus peel, salt and pepper; very bitter; fizzy; much too aggressively bitter in my book, only partially saved by the hop flavour; didn’t enjoy it, which I’m sad to say as a bit of a Moor fan.

Svesse (6036) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAR 4, 2013
(Draught at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Golden amber colour with lasting, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, passion-fruit, grapefruit and lychee. Fruity, hoppy taste with grainy malt, grapefruit, passion-fruit and a fairly dry finish with a solid citric bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Very tasty with an impressive hop character. Very nice.

Cask (handpump) @ Earl of Essex, 25 Danbury Street, Islington, Greater London, England N1 8LE.

Clear medium to dark orange colour with a average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, fruity notes, light hoppy, orange - citrus. Initial flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter, finish flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, peel bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121201]

Draught at Monk’s Cafe Wallingatan, Stockholm. Clear deep golden, firm head. Concentrated salty arom with dried citrus peels and sweat. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Actually dominated by salty bitterness from early on. Well structured malt, but those Jester hops aren’t really shining.

Bottle, 12C. Clear orange with a large white head. Aroma of mandarins, hay, pepper. Sweet hay with strong bitterness that kicks in right away. Mandarins, grapefruit, lime, sharp pepper. Fine juicy and zesty fruit, but bitterness is excessive.

[cask at the Hanging Bat, Edinburgh] Hazy golden pour, as expected from Moor. Love the fact that it’s a new British hop. Aroma is predominantly of citrus – lots of lemon and lime, with some slightly sweet caramel-ish malty notes. On the flavour, lemon all the way. I get more tropical notes on the finish, but really enjoyed the initial sharpness and that transition into the softer, mellower fruit. A cracker – a vote in the ’yes’ column for Jester from me [16012013]
