Cask, Special;
What started out as a little bit of fun quickly became the favourite of many die hard ale fans and has become permanent. Probably best described stylistically as a Californian IPA, this beer has all the rich malt and fruit flavours of a Barley Wine combined with the hoppy crispness of a Pale Ale. And as best said by one of its biggest fans, "Hoppiness = Happiness."

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2013 66cl bottle (6.7% ABV). Pours hazy amber with thin clean white head - light lacing throughout. Aroma is a brilliant hop hit full of citrus (grapefruit, lime), tropical fruit notes, and pine resin; light caramel malt sweetness in the background. Taste is another showcase of wonderfully fresh Pacific Northwest hop character - pine, bitter pithy grapefruit, lime, orange peel, an almost menthol-like freshness. Assertive grapefruit and lime-driven bitterness - hop oils coat the mouth fully. Deliciously crisp and dry finish. Perfect carbonation. This is a world class IPA for sure.

Tap @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours hazy golden with a small, staying, frothy white head. Aroma has lots of citric hops, grapefruit, light pine, soft apricot. Medium to low carbonation, lovely dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has elegant hops, pine, resin, grapefruit. Fairly heavy bitter finish without ever outbalancing the malts. A serious balance achiever.

Keg @ Stockbridge Tap
Light amber, big frothy head no gas - well it was the end of the keg managed to get 1/4 pint so seemed more like cask
Aroma - big citrus hops, grapefruit, resinous, fresh citrus aroma, mainly all hops with just a slight sweet pale malt background
Taste as aroma, nice juicy malts, tropical fruits, mango, sweet resins, sweet pale malt background, booze fairly well hidden
Palate soft carb, medium body, sweet palate. FInish - dryish but sweet sweet palle malts mixed with bitter resinous hops, it’s a bit too sweet tbh
Overall - It’s a tad too sweet but it’s a nice IPA

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2012 Nice earthy hops. Hint of pepper and spice on the palate with herbal notes. Slightly metallic at the close which is agreeable in small doses!
