What started out as a little bit of fun quickly became the favourite of many die hard ale fans and has become permanent. Probably best described stylistically as a Californian IPA, this beer has all the rich malt and fruit flavours of a Barley Wine combined with the hoppy crispness of a Pale Ale. And as best said by one of its biggest fans, "Hoppiness = Happiness."

Bottle, Christmas gift from Lalitha. Mid amber colour, nice bottle (design and size). Full hoppy aroma. Big tasting beer. Hops, quite rich oily hop feel, fruity and actually not especially bitter and a little sweet. Some malt sweetness in there too. Very drinkable for abv and style. A nice IPA.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2014 Hazy golden orange color, small white head. Sweet fruity aroma of peach, resin, piny hops, citrus and caramel. Taste is similar, dry sweet with lovely bitterness in finish and long hoppy aftertaste. Medium body and soft carbonation. Great stuff, very enjoyable and nicely balanced IPA.

Orange-yellow with a thin white head. Nice fruity aroma, peach, citrus- orange and grapefruit, floral hops. Taste was sweet with a very bitter/astringent finish, good, but Iím not sure how well balanced I found this one - normally I love a big bitter hoppy IPA, but something just didnít click for me with this one. Thin oily texture, light carbonation. Like I say good, but not the best IPA Iíve ever had.

A orange-yellow beer with a dense, quite big and blond head. The nose of fructose sweetenss, fruits, some tropical fruits, caramell, peaches and citrusfruits. Taste is balancing between the fructose and slightly caramelly sweetness against the medium bitterness. The bitterness is strong enough even the sweetness is quite strong. Some pine needles, hint of tropical fruits, the end is piney and dry, some peppermint. Medium+ bodied, low carbonation. Quite balanced IPA, slightly too caramelly for me, also should be more fresh.

By íeck this is a good íun! From whiff to slurp definitely in the West Coast US mould. Strong herbal presence - exceptional balance with sweet malt. Bootiful hop heaven.

(Bottle, 0.66 l, at Drink Baar, 20131125) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, honey and pine. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, pine, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A very good hoppy brew, well balanced.

660ml bottle @ home. Ordered from Ales By Mail. Aroma reminds me about forest after rain, quite nice look, refreshing taste after 5 days antibiotics cure :-) Pretty easy IPA. This bottle size is the best!

On tap at BRU Pub, august 1st 2013, what a nice beer to celebrate the international ipa day with! A bit muddy in appearance, hazy pale orange body, creamy offwhite head. Aroma of apricot, orange, sweet flowers. Thick malty body with hazelnut, apricot and mango, excellent in taste. Sweet and fruity finish, zesty light spicy aftertaste with grapefruit. This is a really good india pale ale IMO.
