Cask, Special;
What started out as a little bit of fun quickly became the favourite of many die hard ale fans and has become permanent. Probably best described stylistically as a Californian IPA, this beer has all the rich malt and fruit flavours of a Barley Wine combined with the hoppy crispness of a Pale Ale. And as best said by one of its biggest fans, "Hoppiness = Happiness."

Bottle. Think I've got an off bottle because this is just a watery grapefruit juice. Will need to try again to confirm. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Look Mum No Hands, Southbank. Pours a hazy orange colour with a thin off-white head. Lots of (slightly over-ripe) tropical fruits - pineapple, passion fruit, mango. Medium body. The aroma is definitely there in the flavour too, as well as caramel, a funky earthiness, some grapefruit and a little lemon. Maybe a touch too sweet but very enjoyable.

650mL bottle. Pours slightly cloudy golden with a small sudsy head and a nice citrus/grapefruit zest aroma. Very sweet fruity/mango flavour that hides almost every shred of bitterness. Very nice beer, i enjoy this style of IPA.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Nothing much to say here which hasn’t already been said. This is just a damn fine IPA. Superbly balanced and drinks very well. Fantastic beer

Cold bottle. Clear orange with decent white bubbly head. Smell is very nice. Really fruity, caramel. Body is medium. Taste is not as potent as the smell - a little toned down. Juicy, easy drinking, balance, nice level of bitterness. Pine, citrus. I could drink this endlessly - great stuff. A really solid and well made beer, but it just lacks the wow-factor that would send this up into the 4s.

On tap at Hamnmästaren, Malmö, July 2013. Slightly hazy golden with a medium white head. Fresh and refreshing with citrus, hops, grass and notes of biscuits. The finish was dry and nicely bitter.

Hazy amber beer, little pale cream coloured head. Light crispy palate. Smooth hops here - light pine and grass with a little minty coolness. Light tangerine and subtle tropical fruits. Whisper of skunk. Soft and semi dry finish with a mild bitter linger. Brings to mind things like Pliny and Heady Topper. Lovely!
