Cask, Special;
What started out as a little bit of fun quickly became the favourite of many die hard ale fans and has become permanent. Probably best described stylistically as a Californian IPA, this beer has all the rich malt and fruit flavours of a Barley Wine combined with the hoppy crispness of a Pale Ale. And as best said by one of its biggest fans, "Hoppiness = Happiness."

In bottiglia. Ottima!

Bottle from Bere Buona Birra, Milan; 6.7% ABV
Golden color. Strong herbaceous hop aroma, also piney, menthol, eucalyptus; sweat. Dry mouthfeel, lean body; bready and cereally malt flavor; very strong bitterness, with a strong piney and resiny final.
It delivers the hop promise.

A hop explosion with the fruit hitting you first (strawberries, sour cranberries) followed by a long citrus hop finish. Bring on the hop revolution! Rated by BrewTom

660 ml bottle. 6.7%. BB 07/Oct/2014. From alesbymail.co.uk.
Cloudy orange golden colour with a small foamy white head. Sweet fruity hops, mild bitterness, sweetness, mild yeast (without pouring yeast in) and tropical fruits in the aroma. Yummy! The flavour is delicious tropical fruits, pine and mild grapefruit, mild bitterness, sweet caramel malt and dry yeastiness. Delicious. Fizzy.

Keg from The Beerhive. Very thin white head, slightest bit of lacing. Clear coppery body. Nose is sweet tropical fruit, caramel, fresh leaves. Flavour is pine, resin, treacle, very bitter on the finish, stone fruits coming through on the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy, oily and syrupy. Little carbonation. Loads of bite, this is a proper mouthful. Itís good stuff.

Keg at Urban Tap House, Cardiff, late August 2014. Excellent IPA; hoppy yet incredibly balanced and quaffable despite its ABV. A.

nou, dat was weer lekker zeg! Aroma of tropics, citrus, malts, grass. Bitterness is just right on the edge where i like it and nicely balancing with the initial sweetness (malt, grapefruit, oranges). Aftertaste long, dry and bitter. Ja dat was weer lekker!
