4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 14, 2015 Bottle, 12C. Almost clear pale amber (leaving the cm of sludge at the bottom of the bottle) with a lovely white head that lasts and leaves clumps. Aroma of grapefruit, flowers, peach, honeydew melon, toffee, light bread, a little mint/ eucalyptus. Lightish bodied, very soft mouthfeel despite a fair bit of carbonation. Not really used to having an English beer that seems lighter than it is. Fruity sweet with a little firm toffee and a bit more bread. Citrus flavours - kumquat as well as grapefruit - are distinct and there’s a little pepper. Quite bitter, but the bitterness emerges seamlessly. Excellent. [4.1]
Growler from a keg. Even more vibrant fruit but that softness of the bottle conditioned version is not there and the flavours are a little less well integrated. Still very good indeed. Leaving score as is, but [4.0].

Bottle, Coppers, Newcastle. Lovely pale colour, white foaming head. Beautiful fresh pine hop, peach and mango notes too. Soft on the tongue, biscuit, peaches and cream flavours, with a full bodied resinous finish, with woody flavours creeping in to round off a stunning beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Looks like a decent pale ale, medium orange amber with an off white head, aroma of floral hops. Medium body, but too much bitterness and too little fruit flavour to be really good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Bottledog Kings Cross. Cloudy, orangey golden with a steady head. Intense grapefruity hoppiness in the nose and in the mouth. Enough balancing fruity flavours to make this beer highly drinkable. Nice one.
