This is one big beer. Forget the ABV, which is just a by-product of the passion. James and Josh from the Queen’s Arms, Corton Denham, and I (hence JJJ) have a shared passion for great beers and were lamenting the lack of true IPAs in the UK. So we decided to brew our own version of heaven. Double IPA was just not good enough - we needed a triple IPA. Triple the gravity, triple the colour, and more than triple the hops. With nearly 700 kg of malt and over 11.5 kg of hops this beer is big in every sense. In fact, it was so big and hoppy that it broke our pump! Deep copper in colour, over the top in aroma and flavour, but somehow still remaining (somewhat) balanced, this beer is not for the faint of heart. And if you don’t like hops, don’t even think about it. But if you do, dare we say this may be the best beer you’ll ever taste. We like it so much that upon racking we decided to make it a permanent part of the range.

On tap at The Wharf. It pours a hazy amber body and a finger-thick, dense, off-white head. The aroma is sure hoppy, with resins and citrus, and loads of sugary crystal malts in a nice way. Some alcohol too. Some roasted notes in the bitter and sweet flavor. Alcohol too, along with sugary, biscuity malts, roasted notes, resins and hops. Bitter finish. Damn, nothing what I expected from England, a bit sweet but tasteful and pleasant. 101020

This is one of the IPA I prefer mostly! On tap, perfumed enough, floral aroma with pineapple and orange notes. Bitter, dry and of course, hoppy as I prefer! So good!

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 25th December 2010. Copper with a thin ring of off-white foam. Thick, rich pungent earthy aroma, with all these attributes amplified in-mouth.. Alcohol taste surfaces when drinking fast. Citric tang and flavour profile not dissimilar to BrewDog. Rich, pungent aftertaste on a slightly viscous and clingy but engaging mouthfeel.

Bottled. Clear amber color, short head. Aroma of pine and grapefruit. Hint of medicine (which is most likely the immense amount of hops). Good bitter taste. Very nice IIPA from England!

More of this please erm Moor. Like to see an English brewer doing a proper IPA. Cask at the Manchester Winter Ales Festival. Reddish brown with medium to thin off white head. Smells faintly of cake, little fruit and spice. Flavour is grapefruit, lemon, hops, herbs and spices. Done a good job of making it smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Good work fellas.

Bottle. Copper, red and brown with an off-white foam. Aromas are bubblegum and spices with marzipan and pine. Woody with cream and peppery alcohol. Tangerine with floral notes and yeast. Pink grapefruit with hints of banana. Flavours are tinned oranges syrup with spices. Bitter and sweet grapefruit with slight nutty notes. Warming alcohol but very smooth for it’s strength. Some vegetable aspects with floral, spicy hops. Very good.

660 ml bottle. Foggy amber with white suds. Nose is candied orange peel, juniper, dusty attic and a touch of cayenne. Full bodied resin bomb but sadly almost flat. Taste is tangerine, caramel, gin and pink grapefruit. Finishes with a crunching bitterness and a burn.
