Bottle wi Ben. Clear amber with a thin white head. Under carbonated. Lovely tropical fruit aroma. Mango and passionfruit. Flavour is sweet with a fruity acidic twang. Quite sweet with a managably bitter finish. Very nice.

Draught at Haket, Göteborg, on June 27, 2012
Amber color, white head. Sweet, hoppy scent. Berry, alcohol, hoppy, bitter taste. Very high bitterness. Medium mouthfeel.
Way too bitter and too evident alcohol for me.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at BA in Örebro. It poured a very hazy dark brown liquid with a minimal head. Fairly mild smell with some grassy hops. The taste was allot more intense with grass, resin, pine and sweet malts. An east coast DIPA bordering on an american BW.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
[cask at the Stockbridge Tap, Edinburgh] Deep, hazy orangey-bronze from the cask pour, nice white head. Aroma of sweet, sticky caramel and resinous hop. Really syrupy on the flavour – perfect on cask, as the resinous hop flavours really come out. It’s like drinking that sticky amber you see running down tree trunks, trapping insects. Yet despite that – and the abv – it’s really very smooth. One of the best beers I’ve had this year, and a real shame it’s now so rare on cask in the UK

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On cask at The Stockbridge Tap. Pours a dark amber colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of pine, pineapple, passion fruit and alcohol. Similar flavours with lingering passion fruit and alcohol again. Mildly dry and nicely bitter with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Quite challenging. Just a little sweet with alcohol quite prominent. Reminded me a little of a hoppy barley wine.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very rare Cask @ The Stockbridge Tap, Edinburgh EIBF 2012
Rich amber, clear, slight off white rich head, good lacing for abv
Aroma - rich orangey caramel malts, rich resonous hops, some grassy hops, orange citrus, dense juicy malts, rich resin, quite complex and fairly boozy
Taste as main aroma with rich orangey malts, rich caramel barley sugar malts, complex malts, grassy hops, soft citrus hops, sweet but not overly so, lots of flavours, saturated, quite boozy
Palate - soft carb, full body, oily silky texture. Finish as main flavour, smooyj not astringent despite big flavours.
Overall - Really glad to have tried this - very much into barley wine territory than US DIPA, lots of malt and resinous hops. Perhaps being at bit colder with some extra soft carbonation would enhance the drinkability.

It smells hoppy and sweet. The taste is first nice sweet-hoppy then it more becomes fruity-hoppy and the sweet is less. Good! 10/10/10/11/-/10

9.5%. Cloudy amber brown beer. Slightly dry palate. Wow! Finally an English beer with real balls!! Rich rich salty malt with plenty of hops making their presence felt as well. The malt is also creamy and the hops well integrated. Really comes over as a Barleywine but who cares - it’s English and full of flavour! Whoo Hooo!
