Oily, then medium to dry texture. Average carbonation. Light malt, citrus, hop, resin, pine, light tropical fruit finish is light to medium sweet, medium bitter, and dry. 9.5%ABV is completely hidden throughout.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hawthorne00 (1860) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 23, 2013
Bottle. Clear amber with pretty much no head. aroma of toffee, some raisins, oranges. Oily, very low carbonation. Taste has toffee, kumquat + grapefruit marmalade, some sherry, dried fruit, light floral notes. Firm bitterness, tending towards dry at the end. Rather disappointing, like a very staid barley wine. Perhaps a dud bottle.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ferris (497) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 5, 2013
Bottle - Earthy, spicy and tropical fruits. Very unusual nose and very rich. Deep clear copper with no head. Almost like a liquor with its oily body and rich flavors. The earthy hops are there in the background with the alcohol up front, but in an absurdly balanced fashion. There is an astringency but it comes with the alcohol and little to no bitterness. Overall, I will try this again as it is unusual and I find something interesting in every sip. Not a sessionalble beer but something to have in a snifter after dessert.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beer3000 (3727) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 9, 2013
660 ml bottle @ Christianssand brygghus Quite hazy reddish orange body with a small off/White head. Really nice aroma of tropical fruit, apricot, some dry fruit and caramel malt. Flavor is very sweet, caramel malt, dry fruit, marmalade, apricot and moderate bitterness. I assume this beer might be bitter than it feels, but this is camouflaged by the sweetness and alcohol. The alcohol by the way is present but well hidden, you feel it more than you taste it. Full body, almost sticky after a while, and a long aftertaste with more malt than hops. I guess this is a great beer, but just too sweet for me.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 nilsas (82) - Sandnes, NORWAY - FEB 22, 2013
Noe grumsete utseende.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 reebtogi (3267) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 10, 2013
660ml bottle pours a copper color with a small white head that leaves no lacing behind. Aroma is caramel and lighter fruits with some grapefruit hops. Taste is a bold grapefruit hop bitterness with some tropical fruit and caramel malty sweetness and a hint of alcohol with a grainy finish. Medium to heavy body with mild carbonation. Overall, this is like a hoppy barley wine and I really enjoyed sampling this one.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 laiti (3935) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 29, 2013
Draught @ O’Hara’s Freehouse. Rated on 29.01.2010
Aroma is somewhat sweet with hops, exotic fruits and caramel. Flavour is sweet with American hops, exotic fruits, caramel, some resiny malt and biscuits. Quite American – and too sweet for me.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 zimbo (332) - SCOTLAND - DEC 29, 2012
Orangy hazy appearance with decent full head which recedes over time leavingfluffy rings around the glass. Pleasing spicy citric orange flavour. Good interplay between the malt and hop with a pleasing rubbery bitterness at the end. Approaching the heavy side this still strikes me an intereesting and very English take on the style.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 abemorsten (1879) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - NOV 22, 2012
Bottle kindly shared by Sigmund. Pours a hazy opper body with a big bubbled tan colored film. Tropical salty fruits, sprucy pollen and meaty notes on the nose. Herbal, salty, malty and bitter flavors. Full bodied. Brothy texture and a dry tomgue.
