A very hoppy and refreshing bitter, brewed to celebrate the revival of the brewery, and meant to revive you when you need it. Light in colour but not flavour thanks to a blend of Pale, Lager, Cara, Crystal and Wheat malts. The hops are a blend of American varieties, with American-style yeast providing a crisp finish. For a beer relatively low in alcohol it has a very full flavour and drinks well above its strength, earning it a multitude of awards and setting the standard for the style. A modern classic!

From bottle. Orangey with little white head. Citrus hops aroma, little skunky. Similar taste, yeasty finish. Not very exciting. Little undercarbonated for me

Bottle. Light orange gold, foamy lively bubbly white head, lacy tracings. Bright and refreshing, full of fresh pear, lemony citrus, crisp bitter finish. Loads of character for a smaller beer, and just pitch-perfect as a session bitter.

Hand pulled at the Junction, Harborne. Very nice opening - orange, lime and lemon. Very fresh and light with a grassy smudge to complete. Good stuff.

600 ml bottle from Bieropholie, served cold in a tulip glass. 22OC11.

App.: Clear amber with a small white froth. Aroma: Nice pine/resin, peppery, lemony, dank hops, a little biscuit and fruitiness, tropical fruits, mango, apricot, really nice. Palate: Medium body, limited effervescence. Flav.: Pine, resin, eucalyptus, citrus, orange peel, dank, fruity – apricot, tropical fruits, great hops with sufficient biscuit malt support; dry with decent bitterness and a pine/peppery/grassy hop finish.

Big flavour from a lower ABV. Nice.

660ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a small white head and a few spots of lacing. Aroma is floral and citrusy hops. Taste is light caramel sweetness with a bold hoppy bitter finish dominated by citrus and earthiness. A nicely balanced bitter with a light to medium body and some nice carbonation. I really enjoyed this beer.

(660 ml bottle at home, I presume not so fresh; best enjoyed before 2011/10/30) The look : Clear golden color with a tiny white head. The nose : Canned pineapples, caramel and sweet butter. The taste : Lemons and grapefruits, flowers, toasted malts as well. The mouthfeel : Medium to light body. Almost flat. Oily texture. The finale : Bitter and fruity hoppy.

In short: A refreshing leafy/citrusy bitter. Very good example of the style.
How: From a bottle at Mondial de la Bière 2011
The look: Clear dark amber body topped by a very small beige head
In long: Nose is leafy and slightly citrusy hops over nice hard-candies. Taste is super refreshing, discreet crisp toasted pale malts, juicy leafy and citrusy hops, plenty of iced-tea, a mild tartness, a mild bitterness. Body doesn’t feel watery despite the below 4% abv. Nothing that really stands out but this is the type of refreshing “small beer” I could drink insane quantities of. I like going to a beer festival like Montreal’s Mondial, a lot of people look up to me at this festival. People shorter than me.
