Commercial Description:
Cask, Regular;
Somerland Gold is another regular medal winner. If you like your beers golden, hoppy and refreshing then this is for you, but be careful - it goes down quickly for 5%. Pale and Wheat malts are jostling for your attention with Challenger and Northern Brewer hops. At this strength our English yeast leaves hints of honey.

Bottle 66 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a dense shaving foam like off-white head. Fresh, citrusy nose with a whiff of yeast. Medium body, lightly sweet malt and fruit. Fairly dry and hoppy finish, lightly astringent. Fresh alright. 271109

(Draught@Pikkulintu) Hazy golden with a small but lacy and partly lasting head. Citrusy hops dominating the mild aroma. Flavor of lemony sourness and some lactic acid, reasonable bitterness, and balanced with pale maltiness. Almost medium body, medium carbonation, slightly sticky palate. Quite nicely hopped for an English ale, but the slight lactic acidity was a bit of a letdown. Hard to say if it’s built in, or just not at its best. Närke is better with this kind of beers.

Bottle at Chriso pre-GBBF tasting 09. Summer grass saisony hop aroma. Served warm which was a shame, so a bit sweaty sox. I have a bottle in the fridge to re-rate. 3/6 Re-rate from the bottle in the fridge. It’s a decent summer spritzy golden ale. Not big and flashy, but there is enough hop on the end there. I can just imagine Justin’s smile as he sank a bottle of this on a hot day. He’d be pretty happy, and so would I.

Molto piacevole, per quel poco che sono riuscito ad assaggiarla: mio padre l’ha trangugiata come fosse acqua..sigh..aroma e sapore insolitamente dominati dall’agrume, astringente; buon amaro ma non in primo piano.

Draught. Low white fluffy but lasting head. Slightly hazy light yellow body. Mild fruity malt aroma. Mild fruity malt flavor with more hops bitterness than expected. Low carbonation. Long aftertaste.
