Somerland Gold is another regular medal winner. If you like your beers golden, hoppy and refreshing then this is for you, but be careful - it goes down quickly for 5%. Pale and Wheat malts are jostling for your attention with Challenger and Northern Brewer hops. At this strength our English yeast leaves hints of honey.

Sampled from 66cl bottle at Beer Enthusiast release party, Håndverkerstuene. Pours hazy, pale golden with a white head. Aroma of yeast, fruit and malt with hins of hops and vanilla. Pretty light body. Quite sweet and lightly fruity with a somewhat dry and slightly bitter finish. A bit weak in flavour, but still decent.

On bottle at Håndverkerstuene . Golden slightly hazy color, ok foam. Fruity & floral aromas, nice influence from yeast, some notes of hops. Medium body & medium high complexity. Very enjoyable

Bottle @ home. Medium golden color with a big, white head. The nose is light citrus, plenty of cut grass fresh hop aroma. Some vanilla and peach. The taste is light summer fruits, some grain, more peaches with a light dry finish. Pleasing and zingy flavor. Light/medium body, active carbonation. Overall, quite refreshing.

On tap @ the Haymarket. Pours blonde with a proportionate head. The nose is of pine and tangerine. The taste is of sweet meadow floors. The palate is medium bodied and medium textured with a clean finish. Overall, a nice pale ale.

Hazy gold beer. Slightly soft palate. Fairly bitter hops immediately make their presence known. Mild malt and then a little sweet pineapple peeping through the bitter hops. Finishes dry and bitter. Too much bitterness and not enough fruit from the hops.

This is ok, different. Sweet, with citrus of orange coming through on nose and mouth. Doesn’t last. Not the best looking beer - murky orange with thin head though it lasts.

660ml Bottle from Great Grog. Pale golden yellow colour, reasonable head, lot of sediment. Flowery resin tropical fruit aroma. Citrus fruit & resin flavour. Bitter aftertaste.

Cask handpull, The Swan, Hammersmith, 03/04/12. Thick gold with chunky lace. Chlorophyll-packed aroma; geranium, tomato leaf, shave of lime. A little underwhelming with chewy malt, almond, weak citric hop. Bitter afters. Husk. By Moor’s standards, plain boring.

Cask conditioned handpump Crown Oxford. A golden beer with a white bubbly head and lacing. A citrussy beer. Pleasant hops in the nose. Tropical fruit and peach in the mouth. A good malt balance. Pretty tasty.
