Somerland Gold is another regular medal winner. If you like your beers golden, hoppy and refreshing then this is for you, but be careful - it goes down quickly for 5%. Pale and Wheat malts are jostling for your attention with Challenger and Northern Brewer hops. At this strength our English yeast leaves hints of honey.

Lots of estery fruitiness and spicy hops, from the name you expect another run of the mill reasonably hoppy, yet unexciting blonde/golden brew of the Summer Lightning mould - but oh no! This owes somewhat more in profile to a Belgian blonde yet has a hint of English and American pale aleness as well. To some this may sound all a bit confusing and muddled but the result is a pinpoint beer, excellently crafted. A lot of thought it seems has gone into this beer. Some toffee, honey, orangey, grapefruit, spicy aromas lead onto a complex malty palate, medium to full body (unexpected but wholly pleasing) with fruit reemerging and a sweetness that dies off to leave a long bitter finish. The balance between yeasty fruit and citrus, spicy hops is superb as is the balance between the malt profile and hop bitterness. Like a well hopped Leffe Blonde in someways or Summer Lightning with balls and tits.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Battersea Beer Festival.
Nice and clean light copper colour with a thin but fairly static white head and excellent condition. Glorious grapefruit hop aroma with some awesome pineapple, grass, lots of other fruit and some pleasing amyl nitrate. Flavour is sweet yet hoppy and again, bloody marvelous. More grass and sweet fruit, surprisingly full bodied, lovely creamy yet bitter finish with lots of length. Lots of contradictory things going on but it really works. Awesome luscious mouthfeel. Really enjoyable stuff.

Pours golden yellow with a small white head. Smell fruit, vanilla, and yeast. Tastes of light fruit and vanilla on the front end with a nice bitter on the back end. Lightly carbonated and refreshing.

Orange gold, cloudy, minimal white head; good, crisp hoppy aroma of the tropical fruit variety; crisp hoppy taste backed up with some sweetish malt; generous notes of grapefruit, orange; perfectly refreshing on what felt like it was going to be the last truly hot day of the year (5 Sep 13)

Thin body for a 5,5% ABV. Plenty of aroma, flavor and dangerously easy to drink. It pours clear golden and has white thin head. Low carb, very refreshing.
