Poured a clear dark ruby brown color with a small off-white head. Tart cola aroma with some roasted malt and smoke. Short light malt flavor. Roasted malt with a hint of cocoa and smoke. Moderately bitter dry finish. Moderate carbonation.

Pours a reddish brown with light tan head. Aroma of malt, light fruit, and chocolate. Flavors are slightly roasted with nice malt flavors, fruit, toast, caramel, and chocolate. Fairly mild... yes, but tasty. Mouthfeel is quite carbonated, smooth, and a bit creamy.

Had this beer on 12/4/2000. Aroma is a slightly sour malt scent. Color is black only a small amount of light comes though. Carbonation is good with a nice head. Taste mild and roasted. Starting with medium body it goes down crisp with a toasted flavor comimg on. Finish is medium roasted malt flavor backed by a very light bitterness and a creamy feel.

Bottled best by Dec 07. Pours a deep clear red/brown with a lumpy off-white head. Pretty subdued aroma with chocolate/coffee notes. The flavour was much better - roast barley, crystal malt, coffee and bitter chocolate with hints of grassy hops leading to a dry finish, medium palate. Not bad at all , could easily have a session on this.

16.9 oz bottle. Dark cola with a wispy tan head. Licorice malts and light soy sauce. Taste is kind of the same. Reminds me of unsweetened root beer seltzer. Finishes with black coffee and grass.
