Poured a dark brown color with a tan head. Had a strong burnt coffee taste. Hints of chocolate, hops, and sour fruits. Finished semi sweet and the dry and hoppy.

500 mL. Translucent black with medium-sized, meringue head that lasts so long it crusts over! Aroma is chocolate, molasses, smoke and spicy-metallic hop. Taste is smooth chocolate and malt, with some excellent, understated hop reining in the sweetness. Hop counterbalance also seems to carry faint metallic, dry-spice flavors. Nice, slightly sour finish. Palate is dryish and smooth, and watery enough to be just shy of a medium body.

Pours black with milky head, and had aromas of roasted malts and a few smokey notes mixed in as well. Tastes of heavily raosted malts, hints of moacha and an almost metallic tinge as well. Thick bodied and smooth to the palate. Smokey flavors persist through the finish.

Appearance: Pours out a black body with faint red edges with a light brown head. Smell: Appropriately mild aroma of roasted grains, vanilla, and molasses. Also, a touch of smokiness is present. Taste: Sweetish, bready malt flavor with hints of black malt bitterness and faint notes of chocolate. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Light carbonation. Somewhat watery. Drinkability: A befitting mild ale, though I do wonder how much better (if at all) this would be when sampled in Jolly Olde England.

The aroma is simply heavenly, with strong hints of toffee and chocolate, and a hint of coffee. Color is a beautiful dark brown with fine-bubbled and fairly persistent head. Flavor is on the thin side, but it is malty and smoky, more like a stout or porter than a mild ale. Aftertaste has a little bit of hop bitterness. This beer is the cat’s meow!

Bottle, 500ml; nose of chocolate and toasted wheat; clear dark brown with a small beige head; flavor is smoky and roasty with some chocolate and light bitterness in the finish. Thin body. OK but not great, kind of a watery stout impression.

Deep black colour with a red tinge, sweet liquorish nose, dark bitter malt with mild liqourish finish
