Finally, beer 1300 and my elusive last style not rated, Mild Ale. Massive thanks to Numenor for bringing this back from Rochester for me! Ultra deep brown appearance, almost black, light barely peeking through. Light roast aroma. Pleasant roasted flavor. Odd to say, but this was both light bodied and full flavored at the same time, quite excellent really. Now, let’s crank up the volume here!

Syrupy, sugary aroma with some roasty bitterness. Sugary flavor, though not too sweet, with notes of espresso. Thin but very tasty. Malt character. Good beer!

Pours very dark brown, almost black with a rocky fizzy tan head that leaves very quickly. Aromas has chocolate, vanilla and cream with a touch of slickness. Taste starts non-descript rosted malt - fairly flat and bland. Mouthfeel is fairly light with some soft carbonation. Some cram and light roasted bitterness on the finish. Not bad, but one bottle is enough for me. If this is an accurate example of the style I won’t be having many more.

Pours jet black, the subdued carbonation giving a thin, fine head. Malty in teh nose, with a raost touch, plus some treacle. More treacle on the palate, along with malt and a touch of licorice. Dry finish with a discrete bitterness. Body is thinnish, as suits a british mild. Remarkably deep and rich in taste for its 3.4% ABV, whils remaining a quenching session pint. Perfect after a hard day on the job !

Clear dark brown body with ruby glints. High frothy tan head. Very dry caramel aroma with a bit of malt. Dry toasted chocolate flavour with caramel malt and burnt afternotes.

Finally... the elusive Mild Ale style is found. Anyways, onto the beer. Dark brown body with a light tan head. Nice and sweet aroma, light chocolate as well as some caramel. Heavy roasted malts in the body, overall a thin taste though. Dry ending, the roasted malts show through a bit too much.
