(Taster at BJCP Class) Good deep dark brown color. No hops presences. Roasty dark malt slight smokiness. Good beer for a red meat meal. Strong malt finish no fruity esters. No bitterness at al this was a (mild) mild.

Had to have because of the name, had at Beer Fest 05. Dark appearance, medium bodied. Flavorful tasting.

This beer probably loses some points simply because its a mild ale. There really isn’t very much going on with it, but there isn’t supposed to be. I found it to be quite one dimensional but drinkable and refreshing. Just like it is supposed to be.

Sampled from bottle. Pours opaque blackened ruby with a collared head. Aroma is subtle with a hint of roasted malt and dark fruit. Faintly bitter flavor with toasted, bready malts and some coffee & chocolate. Silky smooth mouthfeel: medium-body, light to medium carbonation. Just glides down your throat. Not to complex overall, but it certainly is for a mild ale.

$3.99/ 16.9oz bottle. Pours dark brown with ruby highlights under a rocky, tan head which dissapates quickly. Barely perceptible aromas of caramel and roasted malt. Mouthfeel thin and fizzy like soda pop. Some lightweight flavors of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and nuts make a faint presence. Watery, quick finish. Very disappointing. Makes a case for checking out a few reviews before dropping the $$$.

Dark ruby red - almost black - pour. No head, even with a pretty hard pour. Aroma is vinous and woodsy, with a touch of vanilla. Flavor of cherries and port wine, with some cocoa emerging in the finish. Virtually no hops presence, as expected in the style. A nice dark mild.

Pours with a big fizzy head. Dark brown with some garnet highlights when held to a light. Smells like chocolate malt tea. Chocolate flavor. Water thin. Light bitterness that keeps this beer on the interesting side.
