Smokey, woody aroma. Dark brown with a finger thick head. Tastes like used hot dog water with bags of barley malt steeped in it. Not catching the refreshing or chocolate malt flavour alluded to.

Coming from a traditional mild drinking area ( central England ) I looked forward to trying this one. But I was dissapointed. Rather thin , quite pleasant but lacking anything outstanding. There’s flavour but its still a run of the mill mild.

16.9 oz bottle: Lasting beige head on a porter like dark brown body w/ ruby highlights. Aroma is chocolatey, lightly buttery, sherry(age), brown sugar, caramel, & raisins w/ some hints of vanilla and almond nut. Well balanced w/ soft malty flavors of caramel, chocolate, sherry, and hints of roast in the finish & aftertaste. Dryer finish, aftertaste is yeasty and clean w/ some vinous fruit mid palate. Low carbonation, light body(but a fuller light),a nd dry but smooth overall. Wow! How can that much flavor be put into a beer w/ that low of an alcohol level? This is definitely one of my favorites!

Dark brown color with a thin head. Aroma of dry malt. Just some general malt taste with a slightly bitter finish. Nothing too special.

Pours burnt sienna with smallish off-white head. Aroma of malt, chocoff, some dark fruit. Tastes somewhat black malty, with some chocolate and molasses in the finish. Gets sweeter and more chocolate syrupy as it warms, but the complexity and balance is for shit. Mediocre. Ohmper has called me out in the past (Carnegie porter), and I am calling him out on his rating of this. 3.8 is way too high, Per, and if this palate is a 5, then Oprah is a 5 for beauty!! But that’s the beauty of this site....non only can we disagree, but we have the Bayesian average to act as a "rationilization factor".
