Dark brown pour with a cola color and some head and a nice lace. Definite coffee bitterness in the mouth, but not unpleasant. I enjoyed this one a great deal.

Pours a deep dark ruby color. Aroma consists of roasted malts and chocolate. Beer is somewhat watery with hints most of the flavor being of roasted malts. Mild seems appropriate for this ale.

Color’s a sturdy brown, though flooded from behind with crimson shades, and enhanced by a big, bubbling, creamy-tan head, leaving lace behind. Aroma, smooth, creamy, some nutty notes, glimmer of cocoa, hints of butter and spice, mostly malty. Taste: tidy bitter hop notes flank the palate at first, then disappear altogether, and all is mellow, silky smooth. Medium-bodied, at best, with a short, nutty finish. Tasty, though, and quite a quaffer. Easily encompasses the best aspects of the "mild ale" style, a better sort of brown. But not the kind of thing I’d normally reach for, nonetheless...

Smooth and refreshing. Light and kind of like Speckled hen and a Stout beer mixed. Starts and finished very even and balanced. Great mouth feel. I had it with pork and it rocked.

Another boring mild ale from England. Dark body with a beige head. Faint aroma of malt and roasted bark. Decent body but holds nothing of worth. Flavor is ZZZzzzzzzzz. Sorry, dozed off. Not a very interesting beer.

doughy, chocolaty aroma; smooth, roasty, mild, nutty flavor, notes of dusty cobwebs with a dryish, balanced finish. Not bad at all.

Nice black amber color with off white head almost like a soda head. Nutty nose with some roasted notes. Med to light body with dry crisp finish. Light flavors of malt, molasses, nuts and hops. Not bad at all.

Bottle. Deep red-brown. Quick fading head. Aroma is malty, chocolate malt predominates. Somewhat sourish taste. Thin bodied. Moderate malt and hop flavors. Not bad for a mild ale style.
