Location: 1/2 liter bottle from Gilly’s, 7/16/09

Aroma: Nothing overwhelming: some nutty hints, coffee, malty, chocolate
Appearance: Brown color with a red hue
Flavor: Similar to the nose, light, tasty, mostly malt sweetness, with a touch of hoppiness in the finish
Palate: Thin body, a bit watery, does have a solid mouthfeel
Overall Impression: Not a bad brew. I enjoyed this one, though I did find it’s watery palate a bit off-putting. Other then that it was a pretty solid beer that is definitely worth a try, don’t drink it if your looking for something with a kick, it’s only 3.4% ABV.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown to black with a large lightly tanned head. Light hops, good toasted malt, and a bit of graininess. Medium body, lots of chocolaty malt, some off notes. Finishes with a little bitterness, and a bit more of that odd off flavor.

Dark body with short lasting, tan head. Light coffee in the taste as well as some pencil shavings, chocolate in the aroma less noticeable in the taste.

bottle poured a nice light brown in color with a thin tan head that held a ring on the glass. aroma has nutty toasted malt, chocolate, and a bit of earthy hops. mouth feel is medium and the carbonation on the low side. flavor has a nice nuttiness, chocolate malt, light roast, caramel, and the slightly bitter earthy malt. really glad I got to try this, plenty of flavor and low in alcohol. I wish there was more of this style to be readily found because this would be in my house all the time.

Bottle. Pours an amber brown body with a tan head. Some light chocolate malt, light peat, some minerals, and a hint of licorice. Nice but the body was really thin.

Many, many thanks to my friends in the Ratebeer NYC form, who helped me find this at last, my first Mild Ale, and the second to last beer I must consume in order to have tried all 72 styles of beer listed by Ratebeer. The aroma is very nice, like a porter, notes of chocolate, brown sugar, malty. The appearance is beautiful, a nice dark brown, moderate tan head. The flavor, and forgive me for saying this, is mild. Definite notes of chocolate, some roastyness, but thin, almost watery. It’s not quite a session beer, since I could probably knock back 6 or 7 of these and not feel it, and I think you should be feeling the beer by the end of a session. But it is enjoyable, and goes down easy. The finish has very little in the way of hops, just a slight twinge, and some residual roastyness again. Thin mouthfeel. I’m glad I got to try this, since Milds are VERY hard to come by here in the US. I definitely enjoyed it.

Bottle [Courtesy of Paul, thanks buddy for bring this excellent stuff] Light bubbly off-white like head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Brown color. Aroma was quite complex for a 3.4% beer with notes of dusty hoppy feel, mild bitter chocolate like notes. Quite flavorful and lovely tasting. Over the palate came also notes of roasted and light dry notes properly a combination of the malt and hops. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and light dry texture. Light to moderated sweet and bitter flavor well balanced. Light dry and dusty hoppy floral finish.
