Bottle [Courtesy of Paul, thanks buddy for bring this excellent stuff] Light bubbly off-white like head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Brown color. Aroma was quite complex for a 3.4% beer with notes of dusty hoppy feel, mild bitter chocolate like notes. Quite flavorful and lovely tasting. Over the palate came also notes of roasted and light dry notes properly a combination of the malt and hops. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and light dry texture. Light to moderated sweet and bitter flavor well balanced. Light dry and dusty hoppy floral finish.

Slight fruitiness and medium malt aroma. No hop aroma. Light malt flavor, no hop bitterness, similar to a light brwon porter, great session beer probably made from very pale british malts as biscut.

Pours black with milky head, and had aromas of roasted malts and a few smokey notes mixed in as well. Tastes of heavily raosted malts, hints of moacha and an almost metallic tinge as well. Thick bodied and smooth to the palate. Smokey flavors persist through the finish.

Bottle @ Thorups Ølkælder, Århus.
Pours black with brownish sides, a good, creamy, beige head on top. Sweet aroma, light toffee, some coconut, chocolate. A bit light and slightly watery palate. Pretty fine flavours, roasted, lots of liquorice and some rye bread. Fine, long aftertaste.

Pours a reddish brown with light tan head. Aroma of malt, light fruit, and chocolate. Flavors are slightly roasted with nice malt flavors, fruit, toast, caramel, and chocolate. Fairly mild... yes, but tasty. Mouthfeel is quite carbonated, smooth, and a bit creamy.

Had this beer on 12/4/2000. Aroma is a slightly sour malt scent. Color is black only a small amount of light comes though. Carbonation is good with a nice head. Taste mild and roasted. Starting with medium body it goes down crisp with a toasted flavor comimg on. Finish is medium roasted malt flavor backed by a very light bitterness and a creamy feel.

Blackish pour with cherry red tints. Creamy and charred-malt smoky. Assertively bitter and well-roasted in the vein of Cain’s Dark Mild. Earthily roasty with some tempering fudginess. "Oaky", says Helen. Good character for a bottled 3.4 percenter, but possibly not Champion Beer Of Britain.
