Commercial Description:
Available in October. This is a smooth dark beer with a satisfying smoked chocolate malt middle, a subtle hint of molasses leads to a mild hop dryness.

Really tasty stuff. One of the rare occasions that I wish I hadn’t driven somewhere, and stopped for a random pint. Mid Dark rather than intense black, well balanced, with a nice roast note.

Cask @ The Pommeler’s Rest, JDW, Southwark. Pours a dark amber brown color with a small off-white head. Malty fruity aroma with hints of dark fruit and chocolate. Fruity malty dark fruit flavor with some hints of chocolate. Long malty dark fruit finish.

Cask - Wetherspoons, Canterbury. This beer looks very nice when poured; a dark, chocolate brown with a small and frothy beige head. Aromas of roasted malts and coffee. Unlike many commercial descriptions that claim flavours that do no appear, Black Witch does contain that ’smoked chocolate malt middle’ that its description professes to. This, combined with coffee flavours and a smooth mouthfeel, makes a very nice beer. The finish is creamy and mildly hoppy, but it goes down a treat.

Cask at JDW Penny Black, Bicester, 29-09-07 This poured very dark, with a nice soft white head. Initially very smooth well rounded and milk chocolatey, creamy tasting but after a while it fades and becomes a little bit forgetful but for my half a very nice beer.
