3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Pyobon (729) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JAN 7, 2013
Hazy golden yellow with good head. Aroma is grassy hops with citrus hints. Medium bodied with good smooth carbonation. Flavour is quite light, with a nice balance of slight light malt sweetness and citrus tang. There are enough other subtle flavours to make this interesting - spice and a pleasant gentle bitterness. A nice beer.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 RyanE (98) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 6, 2013
Golden yellow. Not much on the nose.....little bit of malt and bread. Taste has good balance but nothing really interesting standing out. Medium body that ends up fairly soft on the palate. A refreshining beer but not much to this one.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 SilkTork (4898) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - OCT 6, 2012
500ml brown glass bottle from Morrisons. £1.50. A very pleasant pale beer. Clean, biscuit malt. Noble hops. Ask me and I’d say this is a Czech lager - 5% at least. It’s an ale at 4.5%. And I suppose that’s one of the main differences between the brewing methods - the residual sweetness and body of a ale is weight for weight higher than a lager. The Brits are experts at making low abv ale.

Bottle, from Sainsburys Scunthorpe. Pale gold, thin shortlived white head and low condition. Pleasant sweet aroma with hints of elderflower and hops, soft and sweet in the mouth with more gentle elderflower and citrus notes, balanced by a delicate hop bitterness. Finish is gentle but sustained flowery hop and some grain.
