COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Occasional. Originally a special for JDW Autumn Festival 2011. Reappeared in February 2012.
This seasonal beer is dark in colour, with a sweet edge, balanced by chocolate malt and roasted barley, while its use of English and New Zealand hops creates a hoppy pine aroma and flavour Hops: Green Bullet, Fuggles

Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, fudge, caramel. Initial flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter, finish flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, malt bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120120]

From cask at Charlies. Pours clear and dark brown with a deep amber glare. Aroma is toasted malty and roasted. Light vanilla, dark roasted malty and slight sweet. Toasted malty and breadish. Bitter, toasted malty and roasted finish. Lasting bitterness.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A black beer with a brown shine under a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, sulphur, roasted malt, and wood, leading to a dry finish.

Crosse Keys Spoons. Clear dark brown beer. Residual tan head. Light semi dry palate. Fresh dark malt, quite light. Whisper of coffee and red fruits. Finishes dry. Decent enough.

Cask @ Brigantes York. A pitch black colored beer, with a light beige head. The aroma of coffee and roasted malts with fruits. The tatste is some sweet moving to bitter, roasted malts with some coffee. The aftertaste is bitter with a little sweet.

Handbottled (thanks Kike!). Deep ambery brown colour, close to black, with a small brown head. Aroma is Chocolate, mild roasted and ashy notes as well as some slight toffee and vanilla as well. Flavour is quite similar with a quite bitter finish and aftertaste. Mild liquorice in the flavour as well.

(Cask at Akkurat) Pours a deep -almost black- ruby colour with a small head. Smoke and licorice on the nose. Flavour is roasted with smooth licorice motes.
