500 ml Bottle, cold. Pours amber with a dense white head. I get Garibaldi biscuits, and a lovely balance of malty flavour with hop bitterness; Sometimes you wish a "balanced" beer would committ itself, but with this stuff, it feels more like co-operation than compromise. Really nice beer, but I wouldn’t call it a "Strong Ale"

A lovely golden brown colour to the pour. Not much aroma. Strong malty taste with a little bitter aftertaste. All round an ok beer but nothing special

Got this on the discount rack at my local store. Mild, malty aroma, with some caramel and toffee. Bready flavor with caramel and toffee. A little citrus in a somewhat watery finish. Better than I expected.

Pours a clear copper color with a thick head and a good bit of lacing. Aroma of citrus, fruity with a bit of malt sweetness and grain. Taste of citrus, bit of malt sweetness, fruity with grain. Mild bitterness and a bit of a fruity finish. Fairly light body, smooth with a what seems like a grainy texture. Drinkable beer but short on the Strong Ale feel.

Appearance: Clear copper with finger thick ivory head. Aroma: Biscuit, floral, hint of citrus and marmalade. Taste: Low bitterness, low/medium sourness and medium sweetness. Palate: Thick smooth texture, light body, average carbonation, biscuit, citrusy lingering finish. Comments: Very tasty and glass lace.

Hazy amber/gold color; Medium creamy body; Aroma of caramel malt, hops, & fruit; Flavor of slight sweet malt, caramel, hops, and fruit; Not too bad - but a strong ale?

Murky golden colour, good head on pouring, bottle, but soon vanishes, slightly bitter taste, but I found it lingered to long after to make it pleasant, not a bad beer but not one I would rush to if I seen it on tap or on the shelf.

Hazy amber body. Light carbonation. No head or lacing. Dull aroma of grain, metal and honey. Sweet flavour with a hint of lemon. Tastes like a sub par home brew. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft carbonation. Bland, bland, bland...

Bottle that Dad shared with me - cheers. Clear copper with a moderate off-white head. Rather pleasant aroma of mixed berries. A reasonably rich mouthfeel is ruined somewhat by an artificial fizz that doesn’t suit the style. Some berries in the taste too, along with lots of caramel and a balancing twist of lemon. Unfortunately a metallic tang comes through in the finish- yet another decent UK bitter that’s been ruined by pasteurization. Would like to try in decent nick on cask.
