DrSilverworm (6979) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 12, 2013
Mostly full 500ml swingtop bottle. Opened and resealed several hours ago. Mostly clear dark red color, somewhat brown. Thin off-white head, fades to minimal, not really any lace. Light to medium body. Light to moderate kind of rough textured carbonation, very dry in the finish. A little thin. Dark fruity flavor, no real hefe wheat type flavors, just some light spice. An underlying acidic vomit like flavor kind of spoils the whole thing. It’s not obvious, but definitely noticeable. Some lightly tart lemon citrus flavor. Light sweet. Pretty disappointing dunkelweizen.

Split bottle. Poured a caramel color with a beige head. Aroma was sweet dark malts, nut notes, caramel character. Flavor was sweet roasted chocolate notes, caramel, nuts. Pretty refreshing, enjoyed.

Aroma is malt, a little sour. Roasted malt flavor. Not much else. A little acidic, maybe not as fresh. Will have to try again.

Patrickctenchi (4110) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - MAY 29, 2013
Cloudy wood brown with a soft, off-white head. Caramel, dark sour fruit aroma. Taste is a tangy/sweet dull caramel. Grows more sour and leafy bitter as it goes. Not enjoyable.

Pours dark amber with minimal white head. Scent is rasiny, syrupy and yeasty. Flavor follows with the scent. A bit of raisin, some molasses, small amount of roasted malt that carries through into the almost hop-free finish. Mouthfeel is thin and flat. Not super impressed.

Bottle. Pours a dirty brown with an off-white foamy head. Aroma of bread, cloves, citrus, and some floral hops. Sour skunky taste. Bread malts, citrus, and cloves hit the palate. Taste like soured fruit juice. Not very appealing at all. Dry finish.

500ml bottle in a glass. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of slightly roasted malts, some dough and bread, and light floral hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent beer.

Swing top bottle. Rich mahogany pour with a frothy white head. Yeast and mild fruit aroma. Palate is a bit flat and thin. Taste is mostly mild sweetness. Just not a ton to get too excited about here, but it’s not bad.

16.9oz bottle as Moosbacher Schwarze Weisse 9/1/12 (Binny’s Downers Grove)-48° in Weizen Glass-Pours a murky brown with a nice two finger tan head. Aroma of banana, yeast, caramel, and dark fruits. Taste of the same with a little bit of sourness in the middle. This medium bodied brew is lacking some flavors but still is not bad.
