glennmastrange (2206) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - APR 18, 2011
Bottle. Moderate to heavy malt aromas of cookie, nutty and caramel, light to moderate perfume and cooked orange for the hops, light dough for the yeast with hints of raisin, toffee and brown sugar. Head is average size, fizzy, lightly tan with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear medium, brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic. Palate is on the lighter side of medium, a little slick with a soft carbonation. A very nice, candy-like aroma from this Dunkleweizen.

Poured a very hazy brown color with a large off-white frothy head. Aroma has lots of dark fruity with not too many smokey notes. Also wheat. Taste is very smooth and sweet with plumbs and wheat. A good amount of spices as well. Finish is a little light and sweet with malts. Overall not bad. The bottle said schwarze weisse, but it tastes just like a normal Dunkel to me.

Pours a nice, hazy brown color. Big tan head. Lots of banana on the nose. The flavor is very boring. I was hoping for a lot more. Some yeast notes, a touch of wheat, but overall very tame and boring. I won’t buy again.

Cybercat (3198) - Georgia, USA - MAR 1, 2011
Pours a clear golden brown with a fairly thick pale tan head that hangs around for a little. Aroma is malty with a strong overtone of fruit, mainly apple, and a hint of spice. Flavor is malty and a little fruity, not very well rounded but still acceptable. Texture is quite fizzy, just a bit on the watery side, but it leaves behind a decent tingle. Overall, not too shabby.

Bottle. Pours cloudy brown with a large, fizzy tan head, medium-long retention with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (hay, straw, bread, toast), light hops (woody), and light esters (banana) with notes of nutmeg. Flavor is heavy malt (hay, straw, bread, toast), light hops (woody), and light esters (banana) with light notes of brown sugar. Light body, low warmth and creaminess with high carbonation and a dry and biting finish.

One of those fancy recappable bottles. Very heavy sudsy foam on the pour, stayed present quite a while. Thick sudsy residue left. Hazy amber, very attractive. Nose is subtle, yeasty, bubblegum, clove. Palate is full for the style, plenty of body, tastes of banana and tea. Dry. Very good.

500ml swing top bottle "Schwarze Weisse".From Capital Market, Salem.$3.49 Huge POP when the swing top is opened!!! HUge white head is released into my glass..rakes a while for it to calm down..not a good sign! When i can actually now see the beer its a redish amber colur..head is large and thickly frothy. Aroma is actually OK Bready, spicy yeasts, some barnyard and orange! Taste is pretty much the same as the aroma..kinda ends very abruptly though. Ok on the palate i actually liked the carbonation..very refeshing. Overall not great but certainlly not bad.

500 ml bottle. Deep caramel with slightly lighter hues around the edges, can’t see through, long lasting thick white head. Head shrank to a thin layer which left larger bubbles of lacing. Noticeable floating sediment-yeast. Aroma of light bubble gum (reminds me of $.05 bubble gum from the corner store). As it gets warmer, aroma of light clove is apparent. At the forefront is molasses with a light banana clove hiding in the background. This mouthfeel is a bit thin however, it gives you the ability to drink a lot of it if you choose. For me it is a middle – of – the –road Dunkelweizen but… still good. Drank on New Year’s Eve with LiteWait.
