2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a massive white head over a golden body. Aroma of creamy wheat and dry, dusty yeast. Lively carbonation and thin body. Flavors are along the grain variety. This is overall decent. Drinkable, but could be better with more body and flavor.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml flip top bottle. No sign of a best by date.
It pours into my Weizen glass a murky peach color with a huge billowing white head that leaves some nice lacing.
The smell is quintessential Bavarian hefe with great balance between lemon, wheat, and clove. The banana is there but not as much.
The lemon comes out big time in the taste, it is a tangy, wheaty hefeweizen. The mouthfeel is a bit watery, it is the low point of the beer. It is extremely drinkable though. Skip the american pale wheat beers and go for this on a hot summers day.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Half liter bottle, $3.50 @ Binnyís. I pulled this to celebrate closing on a re-fi. Not a big celebration beer, but itís been in my cellar since July, and the date notch is for Feb. 10. Yep, it gushes out of the bottle. In my .5 l weizen glass, thereís a LOT of foam, with a few wheat particles in the foam. Still, a clean wheat beer smell, just a touch of clove nose so far. Of course I laid it on its side in the fridge, so the yeast is in there, making for a slightly murky yellow color. But the taste is okay, after all. There some aging in the malt, true, but the usual hefeweizen esters have dwindled away, leaving this to taste like a maltier version of an American wheat. Some strong alcoholic notes, and more dark bits floating in my glass, Hey, itís an unfiltered weizen, Iíll take it.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured into a snifter. Appearance is a hazy orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma is bananas, cloves, and citrus. Taste is orange and clove with banana coming through at the very end. The beer is heavy feeling on the tongue but is light in body. Overall a good beer for the price. Also, I love the poptop.
