0.33l bottle. Have to say that it looks quite good this. It has one of the darkest brown heads I’ve ever seen, medium sized deep and somewhat bubbly. This on top of a near black really oily body. Lost of aroma! This rich roasted goodness with tons of dark Belgian chocolate and it just oozes peaty roap. Not in a overwhelming way, just really really nice. It’s slightly spicy as well with hints of both cinnamon and other bun-like aromas. Top notch! It’s super flavorful also. Thick and chewy, really full-bodied and it has a soft prickling carbonation. Chocolate, espresso but there is no doubt that the kicker here is the smoky peaty almost salty smokiness that just eats this up. Chocolate milk and wood in the lingering roast dark finish. A rely fine sipper that I drank way to fast. Want more. 03.12.2013

Bottle, so a little background, lagavulin is by far my dad’s favourite scotch, hell it was probably the first drink I’ve ever had..I remember it burning anyway stoked to see the mariage of this scotch into an impy..on to the pour...glug glug, black motor oil, with chocolate milk head. Aroma..peaty so god damn peaty, not as in your face as the scotch it’self but it’s there in its glorious peat smelling original form. There is also some oak, roasted malts, wood? something sharp. Taste, oh my very nice indeed, the barrel doesn’t overtake but adds a nice peaty element, lots of roasted malts, very smooth which is surprising given the sharpness in the aroma, well rounded on the finish, mild hop character and almost no hint from the booze. Well done!

330 mL bottle from Willow Park Wine & Spirits in Calgary, served in a stem glass. Pours black with a small tan head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a moderate amount of fine lace. The nose has big notes of roast malt, espresso, oak, Islay malt, chocolate and vanilla. The flavour is moderately sweet with roast malts, peat, oak, a touch of smoke, tobacco and chocolate. Peat and smoke come through even more towards the end. The finish is long and reminiscent of an Islay malt with peat and smoke. On the palate it is full in body with a milky smooth texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a very nice imperial stout with prominent Islay notes from the barrel. It is quite complex, assertive yet subtle at the same time. 2014-03-09

Black body, small brown head. Strong, roasted malty aroma with dark chocolate, toffee, licorice, wood, notes of spices and wiskey. Full body, decent carbonation. Strong, malty flavour with mocha, brown sugar, salt, caramel, wood, vanilla, notes of sour cherries and hazelnuts. Excellent.
