(ancient tasting notes from backlog) Pours black with medium toffee head. Decent retention and beautiful lace. Aroma is dominated by notes of wet wood with a hint of plum. Full bodied soft carbonation, oily texture, an astringent finish. Flavour unlocks notes of peat, smoke and vanilla. Interesting.

Bottle, may 17th 2015. Black body with a light brown head. Aroma is roasty, mild smoke, vanilla, licorice. Astounding taste of roasted coffee, peated whisky and chocolate, oak and cream. Good balance of bitterness and sweetness, lasting big bodied finish. A lovely beer!

Bottle traded from Werckmeister, many thanks! Pours black with quickly disappearing tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark cherry, prunes and some coffee. Sweet and boozy flavor with cocoa, chocolate and dark, dried fruits. Full bodied. Truly a sipper.

Bottle 330 ml. Black, almost no foam. Aroma: powerful, red port wine, cold coffee and dark chocolate, iodine, smoke and dried fruits. Taste: the best coffee with an excellent whiskey, really cool thing. Great!

Tomada en mi casa, pedida hace tiempo con Angel77. Aromas a cafe cocholate. Densa, cremosa. Cuerpo medio. Espuma color café poco persistente. Nómada es una cervecera que me gusta bastante. Y esta no defrauda. Aunque podia ser más densa y el sabor a whisky me gustaría que fuese más potente. Para repetir sin duda!

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 12%. Pitch black colour, moderate brown head. Aroma of oak, alcohol and roast malts - hints of peated whisky, but not as strong as I feared. Also hints of vanilla, liquorice, caramel and brown sugar. Tarry flavour, not as sweet as expected, medium dry actually. Moderate notes of peat and unsweetened liquorice, also iodine, salt and strong coffee. Some hops in the finish.

At a tasting, thanks, small stable light brown espresso head, opaque black color, flavor plums and prunes, dark chocolate, toasted bread and cocoa, flavor of cocoa, dark chocolate and earthy notes, medium bitterness, quite sweet. Nice.

bottle:pours a deep dark chocolate brown with a thin tan, brown head with no lacing..........aroma has lots of dried fruit(raisins and prunes) kind of like a well-brandied plum pud, with roasty and coffee notes, a little maltiness......a sweetness reminiscent of molasses maltiness, coffee taste .........slick and oily with a bitterness and alcohol warmth towards the end, soft carbonation.....a keeper, a great companion for the fireside on a cold winters night

Rating #1280. 10.11.2014 - Bottle from CBI Archives. Black as an Englishman’s heart, with a weak bubbly tan foam. Aroma is heavy roast malt, burnt sugar, currant, raisin, smoke. Taste is mild bitterness, medium-heavy alcohol character, lots of currant and smokiness on the palate in the finish. Unreal.
