LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 3, 2008 Blah. This is awful, eh? I know truly know what skunky aroma is. I didn’t before. I just associated it with a bad aroma. This beer actually smelled like skunk (my dog’s been sprayed by them). Pour was a decent bubbly light gold with a 2 finger white head. Taste was very watery and very metallic. Tasted like pennies. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Jan 1, 2008 Light golden with a moderate head. The beer has a lot of carbonation and grows in your mouth. The flavour is thin with light notes of caramel and a very light bitterness. Uncomplicated and quenching, but without any flavour worth mentioning. RSRIZZO (1346), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Dec 25, 2007 Aroma is a light corn like scent with faint hints of skunk. Color is bright gold with good carbonation and and a nice head. Taste is light and crisp. Its got a light body with a mild malt taste and very mild bitterness and only a faint hop flavor and slight skunk taste. Not a bad beer but not one I want to have again. mmmbeer (740), Austin, Texas, USA Dec 24, 2007 12 oz bottle poured into lager glass- poured transparent golden yellow, low carbonation, a white bubbly head that slowly disappeared. Aroma of yeast and wheat- it reminds me of a European lager- both aromas are that strong. Hits the mouth with small bitter body, malt creates a foaminess in your mouth, finish is bitter- and it’s not from the hops! I remember swiping from my father’s stash in the late 80’s and it didn’t taste like this! What happened? ogivlado (3036), Zagreb, Croatia Dec 19, 2007 Bottled(350ml). -from Julius Meinl in Vienna.
Pale golden, medium sized white head, cereals nose. Sweet malty and slight hoppy with notes of cereals and corn. Drinkable and better than similar american macros. Swalden28 (1442), McKinney, Texas, USA Dec 18, 2007 Reminds me of a commercialized version of an american lager in a nice bottle. Better ingrediants since I can taste more malt, highly carbonated, still light head retention. Not a bad beer, but thought it would be better. I wonder what it’s like fresh though. imdownthepub (5093), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Dec 17, 2007 Bottled, pasteyrised, 330ml. From Taste Buds, Adderbury, Oxon. Yellow straw colour, carbonated with white head. Thin light lager with little flavour to discover, there is a cardboardy malt, crispish I suppose, with a sharp chemical bitterness. Not good at all. winkle (453), Brisbane, Australia Dec 16, 2007 Looks like an industrial lager, quickly vanishing head, and a delicate amount of skunk in the nose. Watery palate but there are hints of malt and a faint suggestion of a hop presence. Clean nothing finish. Good for removing the taste of VB from my mouth.
