drpimento (785), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Jul 15, 2007 Not as good as I recall. Smell is a bit skunky, but not so much in the flavor. Poured with a nice fluffy white head and some lace. Lovely golden color. Huge grain flavor like unfermented sweetness and taste. colts9016 (198), Idaho, USA Jul 15, 2007 The smell of this beer could throw you off but the flavor compensates for it. A light color with some flavor frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Jul 12, 2007
Buttery golden & clear with moderate effervescence under a fuzzy, white head. Stale aroma of pale malt with light bitterness, but no "green bottle skunk" so there’s a plus. Sharp & dry, like an inexpensive cider. Bittersweet lagered flavor finishing with some sweet golden apple. It may be that I’ve had so many dogs this week, but I didn’t mind this beer today. (Plus I can tick-off yet another Province.)

lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 11, 2007 Updated: Jul 13, 2007Light golden color with a medium thickness white creamy head. Smell is slight skunk at first followed by some malt. Taste is clean, smooth, creamy, and a tad watery. Of the pale lagers I’ve had, this is definitely the best.
Has a hint of bitterness, but finishes with a fairly pleasant bitter-sweetness. This isn’t a jaw dropping beer, but for the style, this is very drinkable, and much better tasting than your standard bud/miller/coors selection, with slightly more body, even though it is still a bit watery. Arayaga2 (933), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 11, 2007 Big dimpled white head. Sweet corny aroma with underlying bubblegum. Taste is wretched like any macrolager. Carbonation is much less evident in the mouth. Crappy, but marginally better than the usual US products. SwillNoMore (105), USA Jul 10, 2007 Bottle, from Duvel tulip, at cellar temp. Mine is called Moosehead LAGER rather than BEER, but it’s the same stuff. A half-shade darker than Bud, with a typical bubbly white head and no lacing. A big waft of skunk when poured...when will green bottles die? It takes some deep whiffing to get past that skunk, but I do detect a note of hops -- just beneath the boiled vegetables. Mouthfeel is thin and light, as expected, but thankfully lacks the stickiness of many pale lagers. Carbonation starts with a sharp bite, then immediately fades to flat...very artificial feeling. Flavor is also artificial, but I must give it a point for having a touch of hops -- an extreme rarity among pale lagers. Grainy finish. JesseM (661), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Jul 8, 2007 skunky.........corny..........cheap..........lowest end of the beer spectrum.............and hey, with the right people, in good quantities, a lot of fun................. cyrenaica (435), Milton, Ontario, Canada Jul 7, 2007 At best this is an average beer with an average look and taste. I’ve heard it was much better before interprovincial barriers caused the mass production. It is not a beer that I would go out of my way to buy, but if it is all that is available, it can be quite refreshing.
It pours a golden yellow colour that is very clear. The aroma is grainy with some yeasty aftersmells. The mouthfeel is crisp and clear as a lager should be, some mild carbonation on the tongue. The taste is bland and non-dememo with some hints of malt and grass.
