35 cL bottle, as Moosehead Lager. Pours clear and golden yellow with a collapsing white head. Light citrusy hops aroma, dry malt base. Flat citrusy flavour, not really citric - just aromatic. Flat finish with a mild bitterness. Boring.

Mild, fruity aroma. Bright, clear golden color that is simultaneously beautiful and depressing to look at, as it usually signifies a bland (if not downright unpleasant) drinking experience. A light-to-medium sweetness that, due to the paleness of the bottles and the 3000 hard miles between me and New Brunswick, is quick to turn skunky. My overall impression is that I am head over heels in love with this beer for purely sentimental reasons, but it also happens to be the most satisfying beer I’ve ever tipped my head back and chugged. Not only does it go down easy - it has a clean belch and actually seems to energize me. Strange praise, but praise nonetheless. Google "moosehead challenge" and you’ll see how many people share this opinion.

I have many found memories involving this beer of an earlier time, drinking it with "old" friends in bars I knew I wouldn’t get carded in, or sneaking bottles of Moosehead into bowling alleys with my friends under our coats to avoid the high prices at the alley bar. Bought a six pack of this on an impulse, and I’m sorry to say, those memories have taken a serious beating. Skunky aroma, and some hops fight gamely to hold off the skunky flavors, but I’m afraid the skunky flavors win. Slight maltiness, that simply makes this taste heavy and leaden. Might be OK on tap, since skunky-inducing light will have a much harder time getting through the kegs than the green bottles.

I was pleasantly surprised to try this beer and find that it does not taste exactly like Labatt’s or Canadian. It seemed to have a bitter, almost Heineken-like flavor to me. I really enjoyed it, but don’t let these babies get warm or they get really tough to drink. A nice alternative to the other Canadian macros.

Clear golden with tiny white head. Sweet aroma with grainy notes. Sweet flavor with grainy and mild fruity notes. A bit of caramel in there. Finieshed sweet.

It’s your typical lager that you’ve probably tasted before but it is pretty decent. Nothing special here.

Slight malt aroma. The flavor is of a slight maltyness with an unpleasant aftertaste that’s a little skunky. I expected this to be a crap beer and it did nothing but fulfill those expectations. I just wanted to try a new beer at Tops I haven’t tried and this was one of the very few. It also leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
