Bottle. Pours very pale, sudsy white head that fizzles and is gone. Smells of generic beer. Very crisp, nice high carbonation, a bit acidic. Finishes nicely a bit dry. Very watery mouthfeel.

I’d take Alexander Keith’s over this if I was in a Halifax pub, but still not a bad pub beer. A little sweet, but really not much to recommend it. Prefer it to Canadian and Blue.

Comparable to a Molson or Labatt. Seems to be more bitter than Labatt, with less of an after taste. Good initial flavor, yet doesn’t stay with you long.

341 ml bottle - I have to start off by saying that if you’re pouring a beer like this into a glass, it kind of defeats the purpose....however, since this is strictly for research purposes, I have done so. Pours a very pale yellow, with a large white head that rapidly diminishes. Aroma of some sweet malt and corn - at least they’re honest about the corn thing on their website. Not offensive, but not really appealing either. Taste is sweet and it is smooth in the mouth and aggressively carbonated. Not much else. It is what it is, and I’d take this (ice cold on a hot summer day) over Heienken or any domestic macro any day - and that’s not saying much. Last big independent brewery in Canada - gotta get some points for that.

Prior to this rating I have never tried Moosehead before, and I must say that I am very glad that I bought a few today. It begins with a very smooth pour with a small, dissipating head. The aroma caught my attention right away with a fresh and sweet smell like the day after a thunderstorm. My first taste was great, just like the commercial description says "a good balance between sweetness and bitterness". This balance along with the smooth, relaxing, taste of the beer made it work and now this is definitely one of my favourite of the great Canadian beers. Non-beer drinkers and regular beer drinkers could both find this a great beer to have on any occasion.

Moosehead has such a smooth finish. The initial taste is good enough, and then unlike many beers I drank in my early years, it finishes very clean and crisp. Pretty regular beer though, nothing too special about it, except for the fact that my uncle told me and my friends when we were 12 to get a case of it and go off into the woods and get drunk.

So this is the 666 rating of moosehead.....big deal. Are you superstitious? At the monaca drafthouse. 23 oz draft for $2.50. Clear lager pour, constant nice streaming bubbles. Pale yellow. I used to drink this alot because it was different, but now I find it a typical pale yellow american beer. Yeasty beer aroma is typical, but present. Even tho there are lots of bubbles in the brew, it is not as fizzy when you drink it, it is relatively flat. The flavor is not too offensive, has little hoppy bitterness (just a little) but it is not as personal as an ale. Slightly on the watery side. Yer typical american lager, I wish there was as much carbonation aas is visual. Every sip brings up a fine creamy shallow head. There seems to be a little more bitterness accumulating on the rear palate as the beer nears completion. Yes, I’ve had this many times and now I remember why I didn’t remember the flavor. Just typical pale yellow american beer lager with a cool name.

On draught. Standard fresh hoppy lager aroma and appearance. This lager is reasonably hoppy and has a nice palate with some bitterness in the finish. This is an OK lager, certainly much better than anything Molsen has to offer.
